Infinity is Looking to Bounce Back After Rough Patch

During the first week of the 2022 LLA summer split, Infinity had to face Estral Esports and Rainbow7, which are two of the strongest teams in the tournament. Infinity vs Estral was the shortest game we’ve had so far this split, and on the other hand, Infinity vs Rainbow7 was the longest one.

Infinity is clearly having issues on identifying what playstyle fits them the most and that’s because they don’t have a single star player in their lineup. The days when Cristian “Cody” Quispe could carry his team almost single-handedly are over, and now Infinity needs a more team-oriented approach in this summer split.

On the other side is All Knights, a team that completely revamped their roster after a disappointing last-place finish in the spring split, and they looked decent in the first week, though they have very obvious weaknesses.

While Francisco “Leza” Jara Barragán played much better after a shaky spring split with Estral, Cristóbal “Zothve” Arróspide is looking like one of the weakest players not only in All Knights, but in the whole league.

It’s going to be very interesting to see what Infinity proposes against. Maybe we’ll see them playing a top-oriented composition to give back Jauny “Jauny” Vargas the confidence that he’s been lacking for the past couple of splits.

Drafting Seems to be Infinity’s Main Problem

Some of the esports betting sites don’t take champion select into consideration, which is something you can take advantage of. In their game against Rainbow7, Infinity decided to pick a couple of champions that didn’t make a lot of sense.

Infinity went for a questionable Xin Zhao pick after seeing Rainbow7 pick up Senna, and that was just the beginning. Let’s remember that they are playing in the 12.10 patch, and Xin Zhao is far from being a top priority in the jungle role.

Viego, Wukong, and Lillia are all much stronger picks, and all of them were left open and Infinity still decided to go for Xin Zhao, that should give you an idea on how poorly Infinity has adapted in this new patch.

Infinity closed out their draft with an Olaf pick against Kim “SoHwan” Jun-yeong, which on paper, doesn’t look that bad. The thing is that Infinity prior to that picked Ezreal and Azir, two champions that are very off-theme with Olaf. The only explanation is that they wanted to have a strong 2v2 in the top side of the map, but in reality, they didn’t do anything with that.

Now they’ll be playing against an All Knights that just by looking at their players, they should be able to play very different playstyles. If Infinity makes the same mistakes in the draft that they did against R7, I can see them losing from the get-go.

Zothve Might End Up Being All Knights’ Biggest Problem

Cristóbal “Zothve” Arróspide, top laner for All Knights

It would be crazy to see a team with players like Alive, Leza, Baula, and Crash, finish in the bottom-half of the standings. But from what we saw in the first couple of days, Zothve can be a determining factor in All Knights’ games, and I’m not talking in a positive way.

Luckily for All Knights, the top lane is currently the weakest role in the league, and considering that Zothve is going to be facing a Jauny that looked shaky throughout the last split, he might not have that many issues.

But that’s just against Infinity, let’s remember that he still has to square up against the likes of SoHwan, ADD, Acce and Lonely, and all of them are way stronger than Zothve.

The thing is that he is still a young player and has a long way to go, so if All Knights decided to stick with him for 1 more split then they must have their own reasons and it’s still very early in the split to determine how much Zothve is going to drag All Knights down.

Infinity vs All Knights Predictions

Right now these two teams are going to struggle against the best teams in the league, and considering how neither excels at any aspect of the game team-wise, as Infinity averaged 10.5 deaths per game and All Knights averaged 9.5 throughout the first week. The lol odds show that this is going to be a very close match, but in reality, it’s going to be more one-sided than expected.

When it comes to league of legends betting, you have to take into consideration what kind of opponents teams faced in their last matches, and last week, All Knights deceivingly looked better than Infinity but only because they faced Globant Emerald. They also played against a Team Aze that didn’t look that great as Park “5kid” Jeong-hyeon is still recuperating from COVID and couldn’t perform his best on Sunday.

In the end, this game is going to depend a lot on how both teams draft around their top lane. If All Knights puts Zothve in a comfortable position then I don’t see how Infinity can take advantage of the gap in the top lane. The rest of the AK roster looked pretty good and that should be enough for them to overpower INF.

PICK: All Knights to win at -116
