Lock It In! Can’t-Miss MLB Props: Kelly & Turner Set to Shine

A new week is here, and we have a terrific schedule of MLB games on tap for Monday, April 15. Spring has sprung across the country, and we have a beautiful day for baseball. The season is still young, and we have a long way to go before 162. There is plenty to learn about each team, but our MLB predictions, which have been consistently profitable, are here to deliver. Let’s stay hot with our best MLB bets today.

Monday’s schedule features 15 matchups on Jackie Robinson Day, including some marquee showdowns. Notably, the MLB-leading Yankees kick off a three-game series in Toronto with their young flamethrower Luis Gil on the mound. The surprising Brewers offense will look to stay hot when they face Joe Musgrove and the Padres. The series many of us had circled early on between the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros also kicks off Monday night. There are plenty of options for MLB player props today, and I’ve narrowed down the best MLB bets.

Here are the best MLB player prop bets for Monday.

Best MLB Player Props Today

1. MLB Player Prop: Giants SP Kyle Harrison Over 4½ Strikeouts (-170)

The San Fransisco Giants continue their East Coast road trip on Monday when they visit the Miami Marlins. They will send former third-round pick Kyle Harrison to the mound. Harrison is the Giants’ top prospect and showed off why in his last outing against the Washington Nationals. He went six innings, allowed five hits, and had eight strikeouts. Through the first two weeks of the season, you’d be hard-pressed to find an offense that has struggled as much as the Marlins.

Miami is last in weighted runs created (wRC+) versus left-handed pitchers and sees the second-fewest pitches per plate appearance. Harrison has completed six innings (18 outs) in two of three starts this season, with the miss being on the road against the deep Dodgers lineup, where he finished with 15 outs. I would play this up to 17.5. Fire up the 22-year-old southpaw on Monday night.

2. MLB Player Prop: Diamondbacks SP Merrill Kelly Over 5½ Strikeouts (-164)

From a 22-year-old starting pitcher to a 35-year-old veteran starting pitcher. Merrill Kelly is getting a bit more respect from the oddsmakers ahead of tonight’s matchup with the Chicago Cubs. I love backing Kelly at this number. He has made a career of pounding the strike zone and getting quick outs.

This Cubs lineup has struggled against Kelly in the past, combining for a .197 batting average and just a .274 OBP in 76 at-bats. The veteran has been a much more dominant pitcher at home in his career, pitching to a 3.13 ERA, a 1.109 WHIP, and 6.2 innings per start compared to a 4.46 ERA, 1.326 WHIP, and 5.2 innings on the road. You can count on Kelly.

3. MLB Player Prop: Phillies SS Trea Turner Over 1½ Total Bases (-136)

The Philadelphia Phillies welcome the Colorado Rockies to town to begin a three-game set. I expect the Phillies to Ring the Bell quite often in this series, starting with tonight’s matchup against Cal Quantrill. Philadelphia’s bats aren’t off to a scorching start and are just 8-8 on the young season, but with the temperature near 80 degrees today in the City of Brotherly Love, we can expect the bats to wake up. Philadelphia is the second-heaviest MLB moneyline favorite tonight on the card. The Rockies veteran Cal Quantrill will toe the rubber tonight. He provides a tremendous get-right spot for the Phillies lineup including Trea Turner.

Turner is off to a strong start this season with a .302 BA and .768 OPS. He has at least one hit in 12 of 16 games this season and exceeded this line in 6 of his last 10 games. Turner is priced at -345 (77.5% chance) to record at least one hit in this game. He is 1 for 3 in his career with a home run against Quantrill. That came back in June of 2022 when Turner was a member of the Dodgers. Trust Turner to smash tonight.
