Chicago Faces Los Angeles in Thursday Cactus' League Action

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs have been the class of the National League since the 2015 season. These two teams will meet up on Thursday night for a spring training game, and there will be plenty of stars out on the field.

Los Angeles has gone 10-8 so far in the Cactus League, but this team has really struggled over the last week or so. The Dodgers have lost three straight, and they are looking to turn things around and build momentum for the start of the regular season.

The Cubs have looked sharp in Arizona, and manager David Ross is hoping this will translate to a big 2021 season. Chicago comes into Thursday night with a record of 13-7, tied for first place in the Cactus League.

The Cubs are looking to begin the 2021 season with several new members of the pitching staff. But, that might be a good thing. Chicago has gotten great production from the entire staff all spring, and it could become a strength of this team moving forward.

Adbert Alzolay will make the start for Chicago on Thursday. Alzolay is trying to solidify his spot in the starting rotation. Alzolay has been hit hard so far in the Cactus League. However, he has some stuff that could make him a solid fifth-starter option for Ross.

Former Dodger Joc Pederson has been on a tear for the Cubs. He leads the way with five home runs and 11 runs batted in. The Cubs still have a ton of young talent. Their offense has the potential to break out in a big way.

Cubs Playing Great in Spring

The Cubs are not expected to be a World Series title contender. But they have looked the part so far in spring training. Ross has a number of positional battles going on. This has forced most of the roster to be locked in.

Los Angeles has not been winning many games of late. However, the Dodgers are simply just waiting for the regular season to begin.
