It will be a busy day of MLB betting on Wednesday night with a big slate of games. The Toronto Blue Jays host the Seattle Mariners in one of those games, and there is a good chance to make some MLB picks on this series finale.
Seattle came into this season with some lofty expectations, but the Mariners are just 16-21 overall and 7-14 on the road. The Mariners just took two of three in New York against the Mets, but they have struggled in Toronto.
The Blue Jays got off to a great start in 2022, but they have struggled a bit in the month of May. The Blue Jays are still 20-17 but they are capable of playing better than their current record.
The MLB lines for this game have the Toronto Blue Jays as big moneyline betting favorites at -240.
The overall numbers for the Seattle Mariners look pretty good, but this team just continues to come up short on the road. Shortstop J.P. Crawford summed up the recent struggles of this team, saying, “We just can’t seem to get that big hit right now.”
The Mariners are hitting .231 and have belted 35 home runs. Seattle has a team ERA of 3.90, and all of these numbers show that the team should be better than its record.
Marco Gonzales will be on the mound for Seattle in the series finale. Though he is just 1-4 with a 3.38 ERA. Gonzales has what it takes to shut an offense down, but he just hasn’t been able to pick up wins.
Stars Shining for Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays have a number of players that are struggling to live up to expectations, but the biggest stars are shining bright. That includes a couple of sluggers and their top pitchers.
George Springer is starting to heat up at the plate, and he leads the team with seven home runs and 21 RBIs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hasn’t been showing off the power as much this season, but he is still hitting .282 .
Kevin Gausman takes the mound on Wednesday night and will look to continue the dominant trend of starting pitching for this team. Gausman is 3-2 with a 2.40 ERA and is good enough to shut down any team in the league.
Mariners vs Blue Jays Head-to-Head
This will be the third meeting between the Mariners and Blue Jays. The Mariners had won eight of the previous 12 games prior to this season.
The latest scores and odds for each team in this game make it look as if this game will be a blowout, but the pitching matchup is pretty even in this game. Toronto has been able to pull away in the first two games in this series and that should happen again on Wednesday night.
Seattle just hasn’t been able to find much offense up in Toronto, and Gausman is going to shut the Mariners down once again. The Blue Jays will get some clutch hitting late, and this will be another win by at least two runs.
Head to BetUS Sportsbook and take the Toronto Blue Jays -1½ as they complete the sweep and beat the Seattle Mariners.
