Atlanta Looks to Move to .500 at Home
Braves Improving, Marlins Floundering
The Atlanta Braves just finished a big series with the Philadelphia Phillies in which they split four games and wound up tied for second place with in the National League East. But they are playing better moving forward. The Miami Marlins, however, are heading in the opposite direction, seemingly falling deeper and deeper behind in the NL East.
Let’s check the latest MLB picks, stats, injury reports and MLB odds for Marlins vs Braves. We’ve plenty of MLB predictions.

Marlins Facing Some Serious Issues
The Miami Marlins dropped a quick two game set against the Tampa Bay Rays before a day off on Thursday to catch their breath and regroup for a big NL East matchup with the Braves. The Marlins seem to be hitting a roadblock that could affect the rest of their season. They are in fourth place in the NL East, nine games behind the Mets.
The injuries have been racking up in Miami’s clubhouse, some more serious than others. Some reserves have really done a good job filling in, which is going to cause a logjam when players begin to get healthy. That’s not always a bad problem to have, but it can cause stress on a young team trying to find their identity.
The pitching staff that had carried the Marlins early in the season is now beginning to falter and the young pitchers who are not tested at the MLB spreads level are having their weaknesses exposed by some very good offenses. The Marlins are still a ways off from truly contending, but they still need to keep competing as best they can to move forward.
Braves Coming to Life
Even though the Atlanta Braves split their four-game series with the Phillies this week, they are beginning to play better and some of the more powerful bats in the lineup are starting to finally show up. Now, they are far from firing on all cylinders like they were at the end of the 2021 season, but they are trending in the right direction.
It seems like everytime the Braves get their offense going, they run into another buzzsaw pitcher. Thursday night’s game proved that, as Aaron Nola had a strong outing against the Braves, who could have claimed sole ownership of second place in the NL East with a win.
The Braves really need to push for a sweep against a struggling Marlins squad that is currently plagued by injuries to some of their best players.
Marlins vs Braves Head-to-Head
This is the third series of the season for the Braves and Marlins. It will also be the second series in the past week. The season series is split 3-3. All the games have been close and only one game was won by three runs.
