The Rockies took a 5-3 win over the Marlins on Monday, handing them their third loss in their past four games. That comes on the heels of a four-game winning streak by the Marlins.

Marlins Offense Struggling
The Marlins haven’t been able to find much success with their offense of late, scoring a combined 12 runs over their last four games. That’s not horrible, but it’s not good enough – especially when the team has an opportunity for more.
They are leaving 3.5 runners in scoring position per game and that’s climbed to 3.67 over their last three outings (17th in the majors).
“We had the right guys up at the right times. We just didn’t cash in,” manager Skip Schumaker pointed out after losing to the Rockies on Monday.

Rockies Bounce Back
The Rockies got swept in their previous series against the Texas Rangers, losing by a combined score of 31-10. They were a big dog on the MLB odds in each contest and proved oddsmakers right.
This team hasn’t hit well or pitched well of late. That’s why Monday’s result in the sportsbook was so surprising. Pitching led the way as the team gave up just three runs. That’s a big change from the 10.3 the pitching staff allowed in the three previous contests.

Eury Perez (1-0, 2.79 ERA) vs. Austin Gomber (3-4, 6.70)
Eury Perez will be stepping up onto the mound for Miami on Tuesday. This will be the rookie’s third start of his career in the majors after getting his first official win last week.
It was a five-inning showing where he only allowed one run. MLB betting has seen good things from him overall, posting a 2.79 ERA.
Meanwhile, Austin Gomber gets the start for Colorado. He is 3-4 with a lousy 6.70 ERA and has really struggled at home. In 23.2 innings at Coors Field, Gomber has surrendered 23 runs, which adds up to an ugly 8.75 ERA.
