The Mets’ bats were completely put on ice last night – nothing new when Chris Sale is pitching. But tonight’s not the same fight. With righty Clay Holmes getting the start for New York, the pitching matchup isn’t so lopsided, and after getting shut out, the Mets’ lineup should have a little fire to them. For my bet on MLB games, I’m backing the Orange and Blue to keep things tight this time.

Spencer Strider Under 7.5 Strikeouts (-162)

If you’re trying to build one of the best MLB parlays today, throw in Braves right-hander Spencer Strider for under 7.5 strikeouts. Sure, he’s coming off a 13-strikeout game – but that was against the Rockies, one of baseball’s worst hitting teams. Not to mention, against real hitters, Strider’s track record gets a little shaky. Look, I see Swider giving a rusty Mets lineup some trouble – but not eight-strikeouts-worth. Fade Strider on the strikeouts.

Mets vs. Braves Over 9 Runs (+105)

The Braves handled all the scoring yesterday, while the Mets couldn’t even push a single run across home plate. But with fresh starters on the mound for Game 3, I don’t see this staying quiet for long. Ronny Mauricio Under 0.5 Hits (+110)

On paper, New York might have the pitching edge, but Atlanta’s righty Swider isn’t one to sleep on. That’s why I’m counting on Mets shortstop Ronny Mauricio to stay hitless for my MLB player props picks. Hear me out, Mauricio’s been awful lately – batting just .171 with 14 strikeouts this month. Yeah, you read that right. Also, with Swider posting a 13-strikeout outing, I don’t see Mauricio breaking out of this funk tonight.
