Still, our consistently profitable MLB picks have been delivering results with a high success rate and are here to guide you through. Ensure you’re well-informed before making your MLB bets, and get ready for another thrilling day of MLB action!

3 Best MLB Player Props 8/29

1. Orioles SP Cade Povich Over 2½ Earned Runs (-152)

We’re headed out West with our first MLB pick tonight. The Dodgers struggled a bit when Mookie Betts was out of the lineup and their pitching staff suffered numerous injuries, but they have quietly been on fire since Betts returned. Many MLB bettors believe the Padres and Diamondbacks can still make a run at the NL West title, but I still think the Dodgers are the team to beat. The Dodgers’ lead in the NL West is three games on the Diamondbacks and four on the Padres.

Since Betts returned from the IL, the Dodgers are 10-5. Tonight, they will face rookie left-hander Cade Povich in the rubber game of a three-game set.

The Dodgers’ lineup is a different beast with Betts back at the top of the order. Before Betts’ injury, the Dodgers were in the top three in wRC+, batting average and runs scored. In the two months without Betts, they dropped to ninth in wRC+, 17th in batting average and 11th in runs! They are fourth in wRC+ and fifth in batting average against left-handers this season.

Let’s not forget they have this guy Shohei Ohtani.

The O’s recalled Povich from Triple-A Norfolk earlier this month after its pitching staff suffered another injury. The rookie is the O’s top-ranked pitching prospect and has made 10 starts this season. This will be his third since he rejoined the big league club. Since getting recalled, he allowed six hits and two runs in 6.1 innings of work against Boston and eight hits and five runs in five innings against Houston.

Povich is in the 17th percentile or lower in Chase %, Whiff %, K %, BB % and Barrel %. At this point, Povich is a back–end-of-the-rotation type of arm. MLB news outlets and pundits have compared him to Max Fried of the Braves, but I’m not convinced he matches up to his level. Don’t doubt the Dodgers.

2. Dodgers SP Bobby Miller Over 2½ Earned Runs (+120)

We’re staying in LA! The Orioles will look to bounce back after dropping the second game of the series. They have fallen a game behind the Yankees for first place in the AL East. The O’s offense has struggled this month but has an excellent opportunity to get back on track against Bobby Miller.

The 25-year-old Miller has made nine starts and has posted terrible numbers. He was respectable in his rookie season, posting a 3.86 ERA and .226 OBA, but things haven’t been easy for him in year two in the bigs.

The Dodgers sent him down to Triple-A in July after a poor start to 2024. Miller’s ERA ballooned to over 10 before being sent down. The former first-round pick from 2020 has lost velocity on his four-seamer and has struggled with command. He is allowing 2.5 HR/9, and the O’s have the second-most homers in the league!

He isn’t missing many barrels, ranking in the 4th percentile in Barrel % and 2nd in Hard-Hit %. The Orioles have scored the third-most runs (665), have the fifth-highest OPS (.758) and are tied with the sixth-highest batting average (.251). Baltimore has struggled at the plate but still ranks sixth in wRC+ since the break!

Bank on Baltimore to put at least three runs on the board against Miller, who will struggle to keep the powerful lineup in the park. I’m riding the Orioles with confidence at BetUS Sportsbook.

Bet on Miller Over 2½ Earned Runs (+120)

3. Royals SP Brady Singer 6+ Hits Allowed (+125)

The Astros have won 14 of their last 21 games and are 59-38 since May 8, the best record in the league over this span. They dropped two of three in Philadelphia to close out their incredibly tough road trip and return home to Minute Maid, where they will host the Royals in a four-game set.

The Astros have the third-lowest K% and fourth-lowest BB % in the league. In other words, they put the ball in play. Yordan Alvarez is red-hot in August and just smashed three home runs in Wednesday’s win over the Phillies.

Houston will face veteran righty Brady Singer in the series opener. The Astros own the second-highest batting average in the league (.261). The 28-year-old righty has posted strong numbers in 2024, but his advanced metrics suggest he has been shaky.

Singer is in the 29th percentile in xERA and 20th in xBA. He has allowed at least six hits in four of his last five starts overall and four of his last five on the road. Houston has posted at least six hits against 10 of the last 14 opposing starting pitchers. Singer has an OBA of .230 at home compared to .285 on the road. Looking for a good MLB player prop? Trust Houston to stay hot.
