3 Best MLB Player Props 8/12
1. Blue Jays 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1½ Total Bases (-114)

Our first MLB bet tonight is a no-brainer. We’ve been all over Vladdy during this insane two-month stretch. He’s the hottest hitter in the league, and I will confidently back Vladimir Guerrero Jr. again to go over 1½ total bases tonight against the Los Angeles Angels in the first game of Toronto’s road trip.
Since the All-Star break, Guerrero Jr is first in batting average (.463) and wRC+ (301), ahead of Aaron Judge and Bobby Witt Jr.! Guerrero will face Davis Daniel in the series opener with the Halos. His career-best 22-game hit streak was snapped on Sunday, but he will waste no time starting a new streak on Monday!
He has at least two total bases in 16 of 22 games since the break! As long as they don’t intentionally walk Guerrero Jr., I expect him to do damage. Daniel throws an underwhelming 4-seam fastball nearly 50% of the time, and Vlad should jump on this.
Daniel has allowed a .354/.380/563 slash against righties. Go with Guerrero at the sportsbook one more time tonight!

2. Yankees SP Luis Gil at Least 7 Strikeouts (-114)
We are headed to the South Side of Chicago for our next MLB bet tonight. The Yankees will send 26-year-old right-hander Luis Gil to the mound in their series opener against the White Sox. The White Sox have been historically bad this season. This, combined with their position tied with the sixth-worst strikeout rate, sets the stage for a potentially high-strikeout game again for Gil.
Gil is among the leading candidates in AL Rookie of the Year odds. This will be his second start against Chicago this season. He had a career-high 14-strikeout game against the White Sox in May. Sometimes, it is difficult for a pitcher to duplicate success the second time around, but the White Sox have been horrible.

Gil has 14 starts with one earned run or less this season, the most in MLB. He should again dominate this White Sox lineup, which has a league-low .217 batting average. The White Sox have the third-highest K% since the All-Star break. The righty has exceeded six strikeouts in three of his last five outings.
We’ve recently seen Michael Wacha (7 Ks), Brady Singer (7), Michael Lorenzen (8), Nathan Eovaldi (10), Max Scherzer (9), George Kirby (7), Joe Ryan (7), Bailey Ober (7) and Justin Steele (8) climb to this number against Chicago. Go with Gil tonight!
Bet on Luis Gil at Least 7 Strikeouts
3. Pirates SP Marco Gonzales Over 5½ Hits Allowed
With our third and final bet today, I bounced back and forth between adding this to our card with the San Diego Padres returning home after a long East Coast road trip, but I can’t fade this team right now.
The San Diego Padres are a season-best 13 games above .500

Marco Gonzales will be on the mound tonight for the Pirates, and he’s an obvious target. Pittsburgh is looking to bounce back after coming off back-to-back sweeps and has lost seven straight. Unfortunately, the veteran southpaw on the mound in the series opener against San Diego doesn’t bode well for them to get off the snide.
Gonzales has terrible underlying metrics, and his last outing was against the Padres at home, where he went 4.2 innings, allowed eight hits and five earned runs. I expect his leash to be long tonight, with the Pirates coming off a brutal extra-inning loss against the Dodgers. The Pirates’ bullpen was heavily utilized over the weekend.
Since the break, the Padres are tied for the third in wRC+ and have the second-highest batting average (.287) in baseball. Gonzales has been lucky and is due for regression. His xERA and xBA are in the first percentile, at 6.75 and .314! He will get smacked around again tonight. Bank on the Padres bats to put up runs early.
