Two of The Worst Going At it On Friday

Who Is Going to Be Worse?

The series between the Washington Nationals and the Pittsburgh Pirates are offering two of the worst teams in all of baseball. When looking at the roster of both teams, there can certainly be a case made that these are the worst two teams in the MLB.

Neither team has been able to get much going to start the year as the Pirates are 3-3 and the Nationals are 3-5.

Erick Fedde takes the mound for Washington, while Mitch Keller will get the start for Pittsburgh.

Let’s check the latest MLB picks, stats, injury reports, and MLB odds for Nationals vs Pirates. We’ve plenty of MLB predictions.

Nationals Looking to Bounce Back

Although the Washington Nationals are arguably the worst team in all of baseball, losing to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first game of the series is certainly something that they were not hoping for and expecting.

Washington ended up losing this one 9-4, as Joan Adon gave up nine hits in less than five innings of work. Erick Fedde is looking to be much better for the Nationals on Friday.

Hitters have hit over .400 against him, and he has a 9.1 FIP.

Pirates Came to Play In Game 1

Whenever the Pittsburgh Pirates can find a way to score nine runs, they have to feel pretty confident about their day at the plate.

Considering the Pirates have arguably the worst lineup in all of baseball, scoring nine runs for them would be like scoring 20 runs for a team like the New York Yankees.

They were able to get big contributions out of both Daniel Vogelbach and Brian Reynolds. Vogelbach finished the day with four hits in six at-bats, including two RBIs and three runs scored.

Their bullpen did a great job as none of their relievers allowed an earned run in over four innings of work.

Nationals vs Pirates Head-to-Head

The Washington Nationals and the Pittsburgh Pirates have met more than 600 times. The Pirates have the all-time series lead, 327-308.

The last time these two teams met, in 2021, the Pirates won the series, 4-2.

Nationals vs Pirates Prediction

The current MLB lines are going to see the Washington Nationals coming in as the underdogs at +102 on the Moneyline.

Although Eric Fedde hasn’t found much success in his short time against the current Pirates lineup, the Nationals should still be able to come away with a tough victory.

Everything was going right for the Pirates on Thursday, which isn’t something that happens often. They are arguably the worst team in all of baseball and have been for the past few seasons. Expect them to be the old Pirates on Friday.

When betting online, take the Washington Nationals Moneyline.
