Williams, Washington’s starter, has struggled deeply, costing the Nationals three losses already in four starts. If the Orioles can make quick work of him and start working on beating down the Nationals’ bottom-ranked bullpen, they should have no issue covering.

Taking the over here feels like a no-brainer from an MLB expert analysis perspective. With two of the league’s worst teams regarding ERA and Washington’s reeling bullpen underperforming once again, tonight should easily lead for a big score.

Looking at previous MLB betting trends. Baltimore has gone over the total in six of its last eight games while Washington has gone over in seven of its last nine at home.

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen Orioles star Gunnar Henderson shine, as he did in his first couple of seasons in the pros.

Holding a .213 batting average with just two home runs could even make the savviest of bettors want to stay away from backing Henderson in their MLB prop picks today. But not me. At least not tonight as Henderson, who is a much better hitter vs right-handers, faces Williams.

Whether he goes deep against Williams or later against Washington’s bullpen, his +400 odds offer too much value to pass up.

Just how I’m backing my MLB prediction of Henderson going deep tonight, I’m doubling down on Baltimore’s offense stepping up against Washington and putting up the most hits.

The Orioles can’t afford another loss like Tuesday’s one-hit, 7-0 drubbing, thus pushing their offense to step up and smack the Nationals around.

With faulty pitching both from Washington’s starter and bullpen, and Henderson as well as Cedric Mullins putting up over .900 OPS in the last seven games, buying into this game prop makes perfect sense.

• Orioles vs Nationals YRFI (-120)

If I’m willing to back the total going over, even at 9.5 runs, that’s because I believe there will be runs coming in from as early on as the first inning.

But unlike Tuesday, where it was Washington opening the score in the first with two runs, I’m banking on Baltimore being the team that gets on the scoreboard first.

I can’t trust Williams to come off and dominate Baltimore’s top of the lineup, pushing me to believe the Orioles will take the lead from the first inning in this game.
