My prediction

New York Yankees -1.5 (-115)

The Yankees scored four early runs to give Carlos Rodon all the run support he would need as the Bronx Bombers snapped a six-game losing streak. Now they turn to Max Fried in the series opener against the Orioles. MLB lines today favor Fried and the Yankees.

The Orioles have made up three games on the Yankees in June. However, Baltimore has some work to do to climb out of last place in the American League East Division.

The Yankees still have the shortest odds of winning the World Series among American League teams, according to MLB futures bets. The championship odds for the Orioles have gone from +1600 to +20000 since the start of the season.

The Yankees are 22-14 as a home favorite while Baltimore is 13-16 as a road underdog. Even though the Yankees have covered against the MLB spread just 47% of the time as a home favorite this season, it is hard to pick against the AL East leaders when Max Fried takes the mound.
