San Francisco Mired in Five-Game Slide
NL West Rivals Resume Series
The San Diego Padres have certainly struggled with consistency over the course of the past month. However, they’ve shown signs of life of late, winning three out of their last four. This includes a 6-5 win over the San Francisco Giants on Monday.
The Giants have been heading in the other direction as they’ve dropped five straight and nine out of their last 11. At this point in the season, they’re simply trying to play spoiler.
Are they worth a look on the MLB odds in this one or are the Padres the play?
Let’s check the latest MLB news, stats, injury reports and MLB odds for Padres vs Giants. We’ve plenty of MLB picks & predictions.
Padres Can’t Afford to Lose Momentum
Since the trade deadline, San Diego Padres has been inconsistent to say the least. Some have been disappointed after they were touted as a championship-caliber roster with the addition of Juan Soto and others via trade.
This recent hot streak could finally show them putting it all together. Blake Snell will be hitting the mound in order to keep that streak going. He’s 5-7 with a 4.24 ERA.
Snell, like the Padres, is fluctuating back and forth with his performances. On Wednesday, he pitched 3.1 innings against the Cleveland Guardians and allowed six runs. In his last win, he pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just three hits.
This type of Jekyll-Hyde isn’t what the Padres need right now. The good news is the Giants bat just .203 against Snell lifetime. Only Wilmer Flores, who is 4-for-17, has more than two hits off him and no player has a home run.
Giants Hoping Webb Can Provide Spark
The San Francisco Giants desperately need somebody to step up and provide the spark. Logan Webb will be called upon to do just that. He’s 11-7 behind a 3.33 ERA.
The last two games he’s pitched certainly haven’t gone the way he’s wanted. Those who bet online and have backed him have been burned. The Giants lost each of those games as he pitched a combined 9.1 innings and has allowed 11 runs.
Home field has been a tad more favorable to Webb than on the road. At home, he’s 8-4 with a 2.88 ERA, compared to 3-3 with a 3.84 ERA on the road.
Padres vs Giants Head-to-Head
The Padres have won nine out of the 14 matchups this season.

Padres vs Giants Prediction
When it comes to pitching, Webb and Snell have each been very inconsistent as of late. It’s hard to tell which of these two can pop out to a better start for their respective teams.
However, the Padres have been starting to click while the Giants have been falling farther and farther down the rankings. They’re probably the best choice for your MLB picks on the side.
However, consider the under instead. The Giants have a tough time with Snell while Webb is coming off a couple of rough outings. He’s back at home now and should be far more effective.
