Mariners Now with Losing Streak
Texas will be in Seattle Monday night to begin a three-game series against the Mariners. Seattle lost three straight to the visiting Houston Astros to begin the second half, wiping away a pre-break 14-game winning streak in the process.
Texas began the second half by winning once three in games at Oakland and is 43-51 on the season. The Rangers have generally been a disappointing outfit.
The Mariners are 51-45 and need to right their ship after Houston doubled them, 16-8.
The MLB lines for this game have the Seattle Mariners as the money line favorites at -145.

Rangers ‘Otto’ Be Better
The Texas Rangers just can’t seem to figure things out as a whole this season. They really need righthander Glen Otto to figure things out on the mound. Otto is 4-6 with a whopping 5.40 ERA. He’s 0-4 with a no-decision in his last five, having surrendered 19 runs over 21.1 innings during that span.
Texas did just score 11 runs in the Sunday win over the Athletics, an 11-8 slugfest, Texas doesn’t have a dominant bullpen, either.
All-Star Corey Seager leads the team with 23 home runs, and Adolis Garcia just had four hits in the last game. Texas has the ability to be potent on offense but hasn’t consistently.
Mariners Spanked by ‘Stros
After losing again Sunday, Seattle Mariners manager Scott Servais said, “They executed, they made pitches, they made plays, they got timely hits, and that is why they swept the series.” It was a rough three games for the Mariners against the AL West-leading Houston Astros, and that was especially true at the plate.
Eugenio Suarez leads the team with 16 home runs, and rookie sensation Julio Rodriguez has driven in 52 runs while providing a spark on offense.
Righty Chris Flexen, a 14-game winner in 2021, makes this start Monday night. He’s just 6-8 but has a decent 3.79 ERA. Seattle hasn’t lost in his last six, and Flexen is a winner in four of those.
