The MLB Playoff odds start to draw more attention in July, but not for each team. The Baltimore Orioles look to sweep the Texas Rangers Wednesday night, with neither in the race. Baltimore was 7-6 and 10-9 winners in the first two games, winning each game in the bottom of the 10th.
Texas was supposed to factor into the race in the AL West Division this season. That hasn’t been the case. The Rangers are just 37-42, having lost four of their last five.

At Least Rangers Hitting
The Texas Rangers might still be under water, but they’ve actually played somewhat better after a miserable start. After losing Tuesday, manager Chris Woodward said, “We fought. We had some big hits there at the end.”
Texas has now homered in its last 11, longest such streak of the season. Corey Seager leads the team with 16 home runs, while Adolis Garcia has driven in a team-high 51 runs.
Righthander Glen Otto is set to take the mound in the finale of this series. He’s just 4-4 with a whopping 5.63 ERA. The Rangers have a very thin bullpen due to some rough starts, so they need Otto to eat the innings here.
O’s Need Arms
If the Baltimore Orioles were able to get better production from their pitchers, this team might be ready to make a postseason run in the second half. Baltimore has a team ERA of 4.07, but the offense has been pretty solid.
The Orioles received some great work from their bullpen in the 10-9 win Tuesday night, but they’re going to need righty Spenser Watkins to set the tone in this game. Watkins is just 1-1 with a 4.61 ERA, with the Orioles hoping he has a future in the rotation.
Anthony Santander has been a huge spark for the Orioles, leading the team with 15 homers. There isn’t a ton of power in the Baltimore order, but they have the ability to get people on base.
