Time to Get Back On Track for Slumping Tampa Bay

Rays Seek Bounce Back

The Tampa Bay Rays are coming off a disappointing series against the New York Yankees, getting swept by the American League East leaders They currently sit at 35-28 and have lost five of their last six entering Friday’s series at the Baltimore Orioles. Although they’re in that third place in the AL League East, they’re already 12 games behind the

The Baltimore Orioles, on the other hand, played decent baseball against the Toronto Blue Jays and earned a split of their four-game series. They sit at 28-37, and although that record isn’t great, things are looking up in Baltimore.

It’ll be tough to argue that the Tampa Bay Rays aren’t a better team here, and they should be able to come away with the win. Shane Baz is going to be on the mound for the Tampa Bay Rays while Dean Kremer goes for Baltimore.

Let’s check the latest MLB picks, stats, injury reports and MLB odds for the Rays vs Orioles. We’ve plenty of MLB predictions.

Orioles: Bright Future

What the Baltimore Orioles did over the week against the Toronto Blue Jays should have others in the AL East worried. Although the Orioles are not going to compete for the playoffs in the next year or two, this lineup has an opportunity to be among best in baseball in the upcoming years.

Their lineup is filled with a few elite young hitters and Baltimore is banking on their continued development. Adley Rutschman, Cedric Mullins, Ryan Mountcastle, Austin Hays, Anthony Santander and a few other guys on the Orioles have all shown promise and it’s an exciting time for the organization.

Kremer is going to get the start here for the Orioles and that’s not terrible news for them. Although he’s only thrown 9.1 innings, he has a 3.86 ERA and a 4.43 FIP. His numbers can certainly be better, but the 26-year-old is another player with a bright future.

Rays Sputtering

Although they do play in one of the best divisions in baseball, the Rays are usually at the top of the division. This season, with how well the New York Yankees have played, that hasn’t been the case.

Tampa Bay needs to figure it out a bit on the offensive side of the ball. The pitching has been elite, which was expected. Baz, 22, is going to make his second start of the season after a disappointing outing in his first appearance. He threw 2.1 innings, giving up five earned runs and walking three. His ERA is 19.29 in his FIP is above 10.8.

That outing wasn’t great for him, but he looked excellent a year ago as he threw 13.1 innings and finished with a 2.03 ERA,

Rays vs Orioles Prediction

The current MLB betting odds list the Tampa Bay Rays at only -143 on the moneyline. Although they haven’t necessarily looked great throughout their past 10 games, this line should be a bit higher.

The best pick of the night is going to be taking Tampa Bay to win this game on the moneyline. There’s no excuse for Tampa Bay not to come away with at least two or three wins in the series.

When betting online, take the Tampa Bay Rays on the moneyline.
