Rays Look to Stop Four-Game Skid
The Tampa Bay Rays lost their fourth straight game on Tuesday night when they dropped another contest to the Baltimore Orioles. The Rays had a one-run lead in the eighth inning before the O’s rallied for a 5-3 win.
Can the Rays get back on the right track on Wednesday or will the Orioles continue to keep them miserable? Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting odds in this one.
Rays Need to Rebound
Shane McClanahan started for the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday and had a wonderful performance until he was relieved in the eighth inning. At that point, the Baltimore Orioles rallied for three runs, including a two-run shot by Ramon Urias, to pick up the win.
Drew Rasmussen will get the starting nod on Wednesday. He is 6-3 behind a solid 3.13 ERA.
Rasmussen beat Baltimore in his first start, going four innings and allowing three hits and two runs. For his career, the O’s bat just .165 against him. Anthony Santander is one guy to keep an eye on as he’s averaged .400 against him.
Tampa Bay has faith that Rasmussen can deliver another great start like McClanahan did on Tuesday.
Orioles Feeling Momentum Following Another Win
Two straight wins against the Rays and winning three of five to start the second half should have Baltimore feeling good coming into this contest.
The Orioles continue to find ways to win as highlighted by their Tuesday rally. Their bats are cooking as they’ve now scored five or more runs in six of their last seven. Cedric Mullins is batting .412 over the last week with a home run, four RBIs and four walks.
Tyler Wells will get the nod in this one and he is 7-6 record with a 3.69 ERA. Wells has faced Tampa Bay three times season, losing two of them.
Overall, he’s pitched 12 innings against them and has allowed 10 runs. The Orioles hope that he can improve his numbers against them in this game. It’ll be hard for them to cash for your MLB picks otherwise.

Rays vs Orioles Prediction
The O’s have won three of five to start the second half but on a bigger scale, they are 14-4 in their last 18 contests.
Right now, the Rays are listed as the favorites in the sportsbook despite being losers of their past two matchups against Baltimore. On top of that, they’ve lost four straight overall.
However, Rasmussen has been solid on the mound while Wells has a 7.50 ERA against Tampa Bay in three appearances.
The Rays have the pitching advantage in this one, something that could give them the edge.
