Picks, Prediction for Reds vs Red Sox on Thursday, June 1
The longest winning streak in baseball belongs to the Cincinnati Reds, who will try for their second straight sweep on the road when they finish a three-game series at Boston on Thursday. The Reds have taken each of the first two by one run apiece, rallying from an early deficit to steal a 5-4 win on Wednesday.
Cincinnati hasn’t had a six-game winning streak in about two years. Its effort for another will fall on hard-throwing righty Hunter Greene, who opposes Boston’s Chris Sale in an intriguing finale. After reading this preview, check out our MLB lines.

Hunter Greene (1-4, 4.18 ERA) vs. Chris Sale (5-2, 4.72)
Greene finally picked up his first win with six hitless innings at Wrigley Field on Friday. He struck out 11 – tying a career-high – in the gem, which lowered his road ERA to 3.41. You might want to take that into account when making your bet online, but know that Greene’s only prior Fenway Park start last year was a rough one. He gave up four runs on six hits in 3⅔ innings, with all the damage coming in the fourth inning.Ever since a blowup in Baltimore on April 24, Sale has been in a groove. He’s 4-0 with a 2.23 ERA in five starts, striking out 35 while walking four. The seven-time All-Star has allowed exactly one run in each of his last three home starts, including an eight-inning masterpiece against St. Louis in his last outing there. The Reds are the only team he has never faced.
