Reds, Red Sox Hoping to Bounce Back
The Cincinnati Reds didn’t have a fun time in their last outing. They saw their four-game winning streak come to an end, losing 6-4 to the San Francisco Giants.
As for the Boston Red Sox, they didn’t have a great time in their last game, either. They were absolutely smoked by the Baltimore Orioles, losing 10-0 in a game that wasn’t close at any point.
The Red Sox were as high as a -175 favorite in terms of the MLB betting odds but were blown out. They have a chance to avenge that horrific performance against an improving Cincinnati team. Are they a good bet against the MLB odds to rebound?
Castillo to Start for Reds
Cincinnati will send Luis Castillo to the mound against Boston. Those following the MLB lines should note that he hasn’t been the most effective pitcher.
He holds a 1-2 record in four games started with an ERA of 4.35. In 20.2 innings pitched, he has only managed 18 total strikeouts. He hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in any of his four starts, but he hasn’t lasted long.
This isn’t a team that’s rich in pitching and bullpen depth, so a quality start will be key for this team to win on the road.
Wacha Starting for Red Sox
Boston is sending out Michael Wacha in this one. The veteran hurler has been a quality starter this season. Considering he hasn’t posted a winning record in four seasons, this is a bit of a surprise.
Wacha has started seven games and is 3-0. Taking a closer look at the numbers, the Red Sox have won six of his seven outings, making him one of the most profitable starters in the game.
The concern here is that he’s coming off his worst start. Wacha allowed just six earned runs in his first six starts but gave up five in his last outing. We’ll have to see if that was just an aberration.
Not many people expected him to be this good, so maybe his last start was where he starts to fall apart.
Reds vs Red Sox Head-to-Head

Reds vs Red Sox Prediction
Boston is listed as the sports betting favorites for this game despite getting smashed in its last game. Given the pitchers that are expected to start, the Red Sox do seem like a better option to win this contest.
Wacha has been stellar at home in front of their own fans while Castillo doesn’t look like he’ll give the Reds a ton of innings. The over might be a good option but take the Red Sox here as they hope to get a strong bounce-back performance from Wacha.
Pick: Boston Red Sox -140
