St. Louis Hosts Kansas City in I-70 Series
In-State Rivals Meet in Two-Game Set
The series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals is going to be among the more interesting ones of the first few weeks of the MLB season.
Considering that both of these teams could win their respective divisions but don’t necessarily have that much star power, they could be viewed in similar ways.
Both teams played decent baseball in their first series of the season as Kansas City split with the Cleveland Guardians and the Cardinals took two of three against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Cardinals: Team To Beat In NL Central?
Coming into the season, people expected the Milwaukee Brewers to be walking away with the National League Central Division.
If the first four games are going to be any indication of what the Brewers’ season is going to be, we can expect a lot of the same things we saw from them last year. This team is going to be able to pitch at a high level, but their bats are going to go cold for large portions of the season.
The St. Louis Cardinals, on the other hand, are one of those teams that just goes out there and knows how to win. They have been winning ball games at a high level for the past decade and a half, and there’s truly no reason to think that this won’t continue.
If St. Louis can play the brand of baseball that everybody expects, the Cardinals have a great chance of winning the division.
Do the Royals Have Enough?
The Kansas City Royals are one of the more interesting teams in baseball. They are one of those teams that could potentially make the playoffs if everything does click for them, but they’re also a team that could only win about 70 games if things do not go right.
They didn’t have a bad start to the season by any means, but going 2-2 against the Cleveland Guardians certainly isn’t the way that they were hoping for to start the year.
It is to be expected that Daniel Lynch is going to be on the mound for Kansas City. He finished the 2021 season with a 4-6 record, 5.69 ERA, and a 1.63 WHIP.

Royals vs Cardinals Prediction
With how well the St. Louis Cardinals were able to play in their opening series, they should be able to walk away with two wins against the Kansas City Royals.
When looking at the type of numbers that Lynch put up a season ago and the Cardinals’ bats starting to wake up a bit, the bet of the night is going be taking the Cardinals to win outright.
The current MLB lines for this game are going to see the Cardinals as the favorite at – 155. The over/ under is going to be at nine runs, and although the Cardinals on the money line is going to be that play, the under might also have some value considering that these two teams do struggle to hit at times.
However, with how well the Cardinals were able to swing the bat in the first series of the year, it would be smart to lay off the over/under and see if they will continue swinging it well at the plate. When betting online, take the Saint Louis Cardinals.
