Suns Look To Attempt Sweep Of Mavericks
The Phoenix Suns took a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Dallas Mavericks after their 20-point blowout in Game 2.
Obviously, winning Game 3 wouldn’t end the series, but the fact that they haven’t lost yet gives them a good possibility if they can claim the third win.
Phoenix will be on the road for the first time this series, though, and we now just how valuable home-court advantage is in the NBA.
Will the home crowd end up throwing them off their game or will they be able to handle their business as usual? Let’s take a closer look at this NBA game betting preview and see which side is the best bet versus the NBA odds.
Let’s check the latest NBA picks stats, injury reports, and NBA odds for Suns Mavericks. We’ve plenty of NBA playoffs odds for you to consider.
Suns Offense Couldn’t Be Stopped Once Again
It wasn’t just the Suns backcourt that dismantled Dallas; it was the entire roster. Chris Paul had 28 points, six rebounds and eight assists, while Devin Booker had 30 points, four rebounds and four assists himself.
As for the rest of the team, every player except for Torrey Craig scored (Craig played just three minutes). Phoenix shot the ball at a 64.5 percent clip from the field and an additional 52.0 percent from behind the three-point line.
The concern for Dallas is how do they stop this? It doesn’t look like they have the personnel to slow them down and throw different bodies at them. They’ll have to hope that home-court advantage allows them to control the pace. If not, Phoenix will win again.
Luka Doncic Carrying The Mavericks
This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anybody: Doncic is their best player. The problem here is that nobody is stepping up beside him.
He dropped 35 points in Game 2 and they lost by 20. Two other players on the entire roster broke double digits and they were Reggie Bullock with 16 and Spencer Dinwiddie with 11.
If Dallas wants to win, somebody has to step up. Jalen Brunson was supposed to be that guy, but he has been nowhere to be found offensively.
The absence of Tim Hardaway is clearly affecting them negatively also. Bottom line: somebody has to really get going soon or else this series is going to be over.
Suns vs Mavericks Head-to-Head
The Suns have won all five matchups against the Mavericks this season, which covers the regular season and postseason. They seem to have their number so far.

Suns vs Mavericks Prediction
Game 3 is listed as a pick-’em proposition.
You have to imagine that at some point the Mavericks are going to turn up the heat offensively and get at least one win in this series.
The only problem is that they have lost all five matchups against Phoenix this season and it’s not clear if they have it in them. This will be their best punch, though.
It doesn’t seem like the Suns will sweep them, but going up 3-0 seems incredibly plausible – even if the Mavs play better here. Go with the Suns for your NBA picks.
