White Sox Chasing Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians enter a weekend series against the visiting Chicago White Sox fresh off of a four-game split with the Detroit Tigers. Cleveland holds a narrow lead in the American League Central over the Minnesota Twins and White Sox, but they can gain some ground with a productive weekend vs. Chicago.
Meanwhile, the White Sox are coming off a split of a four-game series with the Houston Astros. However, Chicago was obliterated in Thursday’s game, losing 21-5. The White Sox will aim to rebound from that embarrassing loss on Friday.
White Sox Back in Race
The Chicago White Sox endured an extremely difficult start to the 2022 season. But they have rebounded nicely and are in the postseason conversation.
They currently sit 2½ games behind Cleveland for the division lead. They are also just three games out of the final AL Wild Card.
Although it will not be easy, Chicago has an opportunity to sneak into the playoffs despite its miserable beginning to the year.
The White Sox were nothing short of a nightmare to bet on during those struggles. But bettors have found favor with Chicago ever since it began figuring things out on the field.
Guardians Salvage Split
The Cleveland Guardians almost dropped their most recent series at home against the lowly Tigers.
They were down in the eighth inning on Wednesday, and it appeared as if catcher Luke Maile had struck out. However, the ball got past the catcher, and Maile reached base on a dropped third strike.
The Guardians went on to have an offensive explosion and score six runs in the inning to ultimately bring home a victory.
White Sox vs Guardians Injury Report
Shortstop Tim Anderson remains on the injured list with a finger injury. Utility man Leury Garcia was recently placed on the injured list with a lower-back strain. Chicago has dealt with a plethora of injuries in 2022.
For the Guardians, Anthony Gose is their only notable injured player. Gose is on the 60-day IL due to a strained left tricep.
White Sox vs Guardians Head-to-Head
The White Sox defeated Cleveland in their last matchup, and bettors were rewarded who used their MLB picks against the spread on Chicago as it covered the run line.
However, the White Sox and Guardians have each won four times over the course of their last eight games overall.
The Guardians and White Sox have met 42 times over the course of the past three MLB seasons, with Cleveland holding a 25-17 record during that span.

White Sox vs Guardians Prediction
The Guardians enter play as the favorite according to the BetUS sportsbook. Terry Francona and the Guardians will send right-hander Triston McKenzie (8-9, 3.14) to the mound on Friday. McKenzie has pitched well in 2022 and will aim to keep rolling against the White Sox.
For Tony La Russa and the White Sox, righty Lance Lynn (3-5, 5.62) is the probable starter. Lynn posted an All-Star-caliber season last year. But injury and underperformance have told the story of his 2022 campaign.
This projects to be a competitive matchup. Something to consider for those who bet online, the Guardians hold the seventh-best record against the run line in MLB with a mark of 63-55. Meanwhile, the White Sox are 54-65 against the run line in 2022.
Cleveland should be able to take care of business at home on Friday night. Go ahead and roll with the Guardians.
