White Sox, Royals Complete Doubleheader
The Chicago White Sox are traveling to face off against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday that will see the sides square off a couple of times. They met multiple times last week with the White Sox outscoring the Royals 14-5 in three contests.
On Tuesday, they’ll face off in a doubleheader that’ll see them clash twice. Taking a look at the MLB betting odds, what’s the best option for those who betonline?
White Sox Closing in on First Place
According to the preseason MLB odds, the White Sox were supposed to cruise in the American League Central. They’ve fallen way short of expectations but the combination of better play from them and decline of the Minnesota Twins has given Chicago some opportunity.
The Chicago White Sox sit two games back of the Twins, who lead the division, abd they can close the gap with sweep on Tuesday. To do so, they’ll need their bats to lead the way.
They scored eight runs on Sunday against the Texas Rangers as A.J. Pollack and Jose Abreu each went 3-for-5. However, the team was shut out the previous night and, prior to their eight-run outburst, the White Sox had scored a total of eight runs in four games.
One problem that has plagued them this season has been their lack of homers. When it comes to hitting home runs, the White Sox rank 26th with 93, just one ahead of the Royals.
Luckily, Chicago makes up for it in batting average with the fifth-best number in the league there at .257.
Heasley Probable Pitcher for Royals
There’s a strong chance we get to see Jonathan Heasley take the mound in Game 2. He’s had a rough time getting himself into the win column, though. Over the season, he’s just 1-6 with a poor 5.82 ERA.
On top of that, the strikeouts just haven’t been there lately. He’s pitched a total of 55.2 innings and has only whiffed 41 batters. However, he is still working his way back from an injury.
He spent three weeks on the injured reserve list in the middle of the season and made his return to action on July 9. With one month of playback under his belt, the Kansas City Royals are hoping that he’s been able to shake the rust off and get back to it.
White Sox vs Royals Head-to-Head
We’ve seen the White Sox take on the Royals 11 times this season. Chicago has won six of those games.

White Sox vs. Royals Prediction
It’s not always easy to bet on a winner when it comes to these doubleheader matchups. However, the White Sox seem to be in a bit of a better position in the sportsbook.
Their batting has been consistent even, though the lineup lacks power, and they should be the more motivated team. They’re playing for a playoff spot while the Royals are basically cooked.
All in all, the White Sox look to be the team to bet on for Game 2.
