My prediction

Yankees -1.5 vs. Athletics (+105)

The Yankees hit the road and will make a stop in Sacramento to face the A’s. Both teams have been swinging it lately, and while the pitching matchup seems even, this game will be decided at the plate – and the Yankees are easily the superior hitting team. After a big win over San Diego’s tough pitching, I’m expecting New York to overpower Oakland. My top MLB bet? I’m laying the -1.5 with the Pinstripes.

The bats have been in full swing for both teams heading into this one, and with the mound matchup far from ace material, the MLB futures betting is calling for a high-scoring game – and I’m right there with it. The Yankees may have the better all-around lineup, but that doesn’t mean the A’s can’t hit and do their part, especially with right-hander Will Warren on the rubber. Back the bats with the over tonight.

With tonight’s pitching, I’m fading all MLB strikeout props and focusing on bats. If the A’s want to keep up with the Pinstripes, they’ll need veteran first baseman Miguel Andujar to chip in – and I like him to grab 1+ hit. Sure, he’s far from a slugger, but he’s been hot – six hits in five games, and zero strikeouts this month. Factor in Yankees’ Warren on the bump, and I see him recording another hit.

Look, the pitchers in this matchup haven’t exactly been lights out – giving up a combined 68 hits this season. With both lineups hitting consistently, it’s tough to fade the over on total knocks. The Yankees went cold last game, but I’m expecting a wake-up call at the plate. And the A’s? They’ve been racking up hits at home all year. For my MLB picks, I’m taking the over on 18 total hits.

With the A’s handing the ball to righty Osvaldo Bido, New York has a great shot to break the ice early on. Like or not, all signs point to early action at the plate, and my MLB prop picks say a big fat “Yes” to a run being scored in the first inning.
