Judge Home Run Watch Continues
Everyone is still watching the New York Yankees see what Aaron Judge will do in the final games of the regular season, but not much happened on Tuesday.
Sure, if you were invested in the MLB betting odds, you either won or lost in Tuesday’s 5-2 by the Yankees. However, Judge was walked four times and didn’t get much of a shot to hit his American League record-tying 61st home run of the season.
The Yankees are hot as they’ve won eight of their last nine games. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays were on a three-game winning streak before falling to the Yankees on Tuesday.
Toronto leads the Wild Card race by 1½ games over Tampa Bay. Which of these teams is going to be able to win here and cash for those who bet online?
Yankees Give Cole the Nod
New York Yankees is set to start Gerrit Cole on the mound and he’s 12-7 with a sharp 3.49 ERA. He leads the league in strikeouts, so he’s typically tough to catch up to.
The Yankees have won each of his last four starts but if you’re thinking of taking the Yankees with your MLB picks, know that Cole has been a bit vulnerable of late. He’s allowed exactly four earned runs in three straight starts.
Home runs have been a huge issue for Cole as he’s allowed 10 in his last six starts. The Jays are eighth in home runs in the majors as they have five batters with at least 20. Vlad Guerrero Jr. leads the way with 30.
With Cole having trouble keeping the ball in the park, the Yankees might be a risky play here.
Judge remains stuck on 60 home runs, one shy of Roger Maris’ AL and franchise record. He has not gone deep in his last seven games.
Blue Jays Giving White Another Chance
The challenge with betting the Toronto Blue Jays in the sportsbook is that they’ll have Mitch White on the mound. He’s appeared in eight games for the Blue Jays since they picked him up from the Los Angeles Dodgers and he’s lost six of them.
The Jays have lost each of his last five starts. White is just 1-6 with a lofty 5.12 ERA.
The Yankees are seeing the ball well right now as they’re hitting .271 as a team. Of course, motivation will be a concern as they just clinched the division. How much will they care about this contest?
Yankees vs Blue Jays Head-to-Head
