After scoring 10 runs in three straight games, the New York Yankees were held to three singles to fall to Seattle 1-0 in 10 innings and spoil a strong effort by starting pitcher Clarke Schmidt. The Yankees stay on the road for a three-game series against the National League West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers and those making MLB picks are projecting a low-scoring affair.
The Dodgers won seven of the nine series in the month of May while the Yankees captured six series in May.
The series features two of the hottest hitters in the majors. Aaron Judge of the Yankees led all qualified hitters with a .882 slugging percentage in May while the Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman’s OPS (on-base and slugging percentage) of 1.184 is second only to Judge.

Reinforcements Coming for Yankees?
There is a chance that the New York Yankees could activate outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, third baseman Josh Donaldson and relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle off the injured list for the start of the series.
Donaldson hasn’t played since April 5. He hit .313 in five minor league games. Stanton hasn’t been in the lineup since April 15. He had four home runs and seven extra-base hits in 13 games before being sidelined. Kahnle could make his 2023 season debut against a Dodgers team that he pitched for in 2022. Kahnle had a 2.84 ERA and one save in 13 games during the 2022 season.
The MLB odds total has gone over in 15 of the Yankees’ last 22 games.
Dodgers Delivering the Hits
Having a day off might not be the best thing for the Los Angeles Dodgers with the way they are swinging the bats.
They are hitting .287 as a team with 11 doubles and 14 home runs over the last six games. Freeman takes a 20-game hitting streak into the series opener. He has at least two hits in five of his last six games with a .520 batting average during that stretch.
Freddie Freeman’s 20-game hit streak is the seventh by a Dodger since 2000.

Starting Pitchers
Luis Severino (0-0, 1.59 ERA) vs Clayton Kershaw (6-4, 3.32)
Severino didn’t make his season debut until May 21. In his first two starts, he has allowed five hits and two runs with 10 strikeouts in 11⅓ innings. He hasn’t faced the Dodgers since throwing two scoreless innings in a 2016 game.
Kershaw has allowed 11 hits and eight runs in 8⅔ innings in his last two starts. He has had some control issues with five walks in those outings, which is something to keep in mind for MLB live betting options. The last time he pitched against the Yankees, Kershaw surrendered three solo home runs among his four hits with 12 strikeouts in seven innings in 2019.
