Yankees Clicking on all Cylinders
Winners of 18 of their last 21, the New York Yankees are clearly the class of the major leagues. They’ve gone 9-1-1 in their 11 series, with the only loss coming in their first visit to the Baltimore Orioles last month, when they had yet to hit their stride.
There isn’t a more definitive choice when making your MLB picks, but the sportsbook knows that. Perhaps a better strategy for those betting online is to analyze the improving Orioles and see if they have what it takes to slow down these scorching Yankees, who are on pace for 119 victories and usually turn Camden Yards into their own playground – they’re 24-9 there since the start of the 2018 season.
Let’s check the latest MLB picks, stats, injury reports, and MLB odds for Yankees vs Orioles. We’ve plenty of MLB predictions.
Bronx Bombers Crushed O’s at Home
While the Baltimore Orioles did deliver that one New York Yankees series loss, they were no match when the teams renewed acquaintances in the Big Apple. The Yankees hit .320 with eight home runs, four doubles and a triple in the series, winning each game by at least three runs. Something to consider when looking at either the over/under or the run line; New York has the ability to make both mere formalities.
Of course, New York is no slouch on the mound. After Nestor Cortes went eight solid in a 5-1 win at Chicago on Sunday, the staff ERA stood at 2.74 – tops in the American League. Monday’s starter, Luis Severino, has a 5.74 ERA over his last three starts. However, he fanned a season-high eight his last time out and is 6-1 lifetime vs Baltimore.
Orioles Looking to Snap Three-Game Slide
The Baltimore Orioles are playing improved ball in Brandon Hyde’s fourth year at the helm, but they’re coming off a miserable weekend in Detroit. The Orioles scored a total of three runs in dropping three straight to the Detroit Tigers, striking out 16 times in Sunday’s 5-1 loss.
Injuries are adding up a bit, too. Outfielder Austin Hays, the team leader in average (.291) and doubles (9), has missed three straight with a hand issue. Shortstop Jorge Mateo, who is tied for the MLB lead with 10 steals, left Sunday’s contest following a collision and was left with shoulder and chest contusions.
A struggling lineup potentially without two of its more impactful players is something to consider when gazing at the MLB lines.
Yankees vs Orioles Head-to-Head
The New York Yankees are not far removed from their 19-game winning streak against the Orioles that included parts of the 2019 and 2020 seasons. It’s been a bit more competitive since, but New York is 266-159-2 vs Baltimore since 1988, its most wins against any team in that time frame.

Yankees vs Orioles Prediction
Whenever these two meet in Baltimore, it’s essentially a home game for the Yankees, so take that into account when analyzing your MLB odds.
There are a few other items to consider in this one. First, New York is getting its first look at rookie right-hander Kyle Bradish, who fanned 11 batters in seven dominant innings at St. Louis his last time out. And while the Yankees have a premier offense, it did produce just two hits Sunday. Finally, Severino is a bit up and down thus far, and the only Oriole with much experience against him is Trey Mancini (6-for-15, one homer), who is on a hot streak.
Perhaps the combination of that two-hit game, a flight to Baltimore, the need to quickly learn all about Bradish, and some uncertainty with Severino will lead to a slow start to things for the Yanks. Consider the dog and hope for a pretty good payout.
