Coming into the season, it was expected that the New York Yankees were again going to be one of the top teams in baseball. It’s likely not many imagined that they were going to start the season at 26-9.
The Yankees have been at clicking on all cylinders. If they can continue playing the way that they have throughout the first 35 games, this team has a legitimate chance of winning the World Series.
The Baltimore Orioles, on the other hand, are one of the worst teams in baseball and that was expected. Baltimore is 14-22 and headed for another losing season.
Considering that the New York Yankees have won eight out of their last 10 games and are arguably the best team in baseball, it would make sense if they come out and take care of the Baltimore Orioles once again. The Yankees won the first game of the series 6-2 behind Josh Donaldson and his three hits. If Donaldson starts to figure it out for the Yankees, they might have the best lineup in the majors.
Spenser Watkins is going to get the start for the Baltimore Orioles. Although the sample size is small, he surrendered two homers in a two-inning relief stint against New York last season.
Watkins has a 5.19 ERA and only 13 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched. The Yankee should continue to swing the bat at a high level on Tuesday and come away with an easy win.
Unfortunately for the Baltimore Orioles, a decent start to the season has slowed. They have lost four in a row and their next nine games are against the Yankees and Tampa Bay. That slump that everybody expected makes sense
Jameson Taillon is going to get the start for the Yankees and he’s done a decent job against the current Baltimore Orioles lineup. Hitters are hitting .264 against him, but their average exit velocity is below 84 mph.
Yankees vs Orioles Head-to-Head
The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees have met over 2,000 times. The Yankees currently hold the all-time series lead, 1362-930. These two teams have played seven times in 2022, with the Yankees holding a 5-2 series lead.
The current MLB betting odds are going to be too high to take the New York Yankees on the moneyline. The Yankees should easily win this game outright, so we have to go with the -1½ runs here at -135 to secure some better odds.
This is a game in which the Yankees should easily be able to take care of business. When also factoring in that Watkins is going to get the start for the Orioles, this is a great time to be all over the Yankees -1½.
When betting online, take the New York Yankees -1½.
