Yankees Looking To Continue Dominance

The New York Yankees remain at Kauffman Stadium for the second game of this three-game set against the Kansas City Royals.

The sportsbooks are telling us that New York is the dominant team, and it makes sense as the Yankees are leading the American League with a 14-6 record and will have their ace Gerrit Cole on the bump.

The Royals are third in the American League Central with a 7-11 record and have young righty Carlos Hernandez taking the mound.

These teams played only eight innings last night, but the Yankees bats came alive as they won 12-2 before the rainout happened.

Let’s check the latest MLB Picks, stats, injury reports, and MLB Odds for Yankees vs Royals. We’ve plenty of MLB Predictions.

Yankees Becoming Bronx Bombers Again

The New York Yankees struggled offensively to begin the season but recently have found their stroke at the plate.

They are currently third with a .752 team OPS leading the sport with 29 home runs. First baseman Anthony Rizzo has been on fire in his last seven games; he has a slash line of .355/.375/.903 with five homers and 11 RBI.

It also helps to have a dominant pitcher like Cole on the mound as he is coming off his best start. Against the Cleveland Guardians, Cole went 6.2 scoreless innings and gave up four hits with a walk and a season-high nine strikeouts.

Royal Pains From the Royals

The Kansas City Royals have been brutal offensively in the first month of the regular season. They are 27th in the majors with a .597 OPS. They have been struggling to put runs up as they are tied with the Detroit Tigers with 59 total runs this season.

First baseman Carlos Santana has been awful at the plate as he is 6-for-51 with one home run and five RBI. His lack of performance is a great reason why the Royals’ scores and odds have not been great.

Hernandez has not been able to find his footing. He has a 6.43 ERA in 14 innings through three starts.

He had a good start against the Seattle Mariners, where he went 5.1 innings and gave up three runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts. If he can figure out how to step up and continue building, it will be a great sign for them.

Yankees vs Royals Head-to-Head

Looking at the MLB picks, they are telling us that these teams are not evenly matched. These teams play today and tomorrow against each other to finish the series and then play a four-game set in Yankee Stadium on July 28-31.

Yankees vs Royals Prediction

MLB spread gives us a great sign of what we should be expecting here. The MLB lines will change a bit as the game approaches, but the New York Yankees are the better team. Checking out the stats will give us an idea, but Gerrit Cole is the best pitcher on either side.

The Yankees’ offense has been booming as of late as they are scoring 9.75 runs in their last four games. Cole is one of the top pitchers and is finally looking like he is turning back into his old self. As we touched on earlier, Kansas City is struggling this season and has not done well offensively.

The pitching has been a major difference, as well as the Yankees are third in baseball with a 2.84 team ERA while the Royals are 26th with a 4.70 ERA.

All in all, go with the New York Yankees to win on the run line.

Pick: Yankees -1.5 (-130)
