  • Read on for my best Canadian Football Week 19 picks.
  • There is still one playoff spot left as the CFL enters Week 19 of 21
  • Winnipeg has covered five straight games and looks to keep rolling against Toronto
  • A pair of West Division matchups are also worth a bet on the BetUS sportsbook

Only one playoff spot remains heading to CFL Week 19. It’s between the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The latter has a bye while the former opens the week with a trip to Winnipeg, where the Blue Bombers have clinched a home playoff game. Despite five teams already securing spots, this week still matters. Starters will play as we look at the best bets on the Canadian football lines.

3 CFL Betting Predictions for Week 19

1. Bombers Look to Stuff Argos’ Playoff Shot

Winnipeg might be the best team heading to the CFL playoffs. Since starting 0-4, Winnipeg is 10-2. The Bombers have covered five straight games and seven straight as no wider than a 3.5-point favorite, which is what they have against Toronto. The Argos upset the Alouettes and are a win away from the playoffs. But they are also just 1-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last five road games.

Toronto’s offense has scored 30+ in three consecutive games. But its defense, which has some injuries, has been getting lit up. The ‘D’ has given up 30+ in four of the last five games. A pair of these came on the road and is how Toronto struggles as a visitor. This is bad CFL news when Winnipeg’s offense is starting to get going.

The Bombers averaged 30.6 points in their eight-game winning streak. Zach Collaros is still not in his Most Outstanding Player (MOP) form but he has been sharp enough to lead the offense, especially with running back Brady Oliveira playing like he will win the award. Given Winnipeg’s recent form, we’re picking it to win and cover.

Bet This Pick: Winnipeg Blue Bombers -3.5

2. Calgary, Edmonton Battle For “Pride”

For the first time in 79 years, an Albertan team will not be in the CFL playoffs. Neither Calgary nor Edmonton will participate in the postseason. Thus, this game has no playoff implications. But these franchises still would like to stick it to each other. Edmonton has beaten Calgary three straight times and the total has gone over in eight of the last 10. The latter is our CFL pick.

The defense could be pointless in this game. Edmonton has given up 27+ points in its last three games, all defeats. Calgary has had it worse and appears to be the CFL’s worst defensive team. The Stampeders have coughed up 31+ points in seven of its last nine games. They haven’t won a game in seven straight tries (0-6-1).

So we’re not ecstatic seeing Calgary as the favorite here even if all four of their wins came at home. Edmonton is 4-1 ATS in its last five road games. But since this game doesn’t matter, we’ll bet online on it being a shootout as these provincial rivals just let it out for fun.

Bet This Pick: Elks vs Stampeders Over 51.5

3. Roughriders Edge Lions

The other West Division matchup is more meaningful as Saskatchewan and BC battle for home turf advantage. The sportsbook odds are a pick’em as these teams have been inconsistent. But our money is on Saskatchewan given the continuity. The Roughriders know who they are and are on a three-game winning streak. BC is still struggling since adding Nathan Rourke at quarterback.

Rourke was an MOP frontrunner in his last full season in the CFL before an injury took him out mid-season. But since returning to the Lions a few weeks ago, he’s still working out the kinks. BC has scored 32+ points in three of its last five games but Rourke has only thrown four touchdowns against seven picks for the season.

The defense is also an issue for BC as it has given up 30+ points in three of its last six games. The Lions will need a complete performance to take out the surging Roughriders. And we don’t see it. BC is just 3-5 as a visitor while Saskatchewan is 3-1-1 against the Lions in their last five meetings. Bet the home team on the Canadian football odds.

Bet This Pick: Saskatchewan Roughrider pk (-110)
