Must-Bet Cross-Sport Parlay: Best Value in CFL, MMA and Boxing

We have a smorgasbord of sports to bet this Saturday. But we turn our attention to three matchups that offer tremendous betting values. A Western tilt in the CFL sees a high total that is not high enough while a pair of boxing and UFC fights are trending in the wrong direction. As such, we can take the best UFC odds and parlay it for a three-legger that pays about +850.

Best Bets to Parlay This Weekend

Perez Welcomes Taira to the ‘Big Leagues’

Over to the UFC, we’re sounding the upset alert. Play Alex Perez to secure his second straight upset victory. The American has a tantalizing price at +171 against a relatively unproven opponent in Tatsuro Taira. Perez fought for the flyweight belt and has only lost against the top five of the division.

Taira, on the other hand, is unbeaten but has not fought a ranked opponent. Furthermore, he’s in his first UFC main event and will fight an opponent who can hold his own on the mat. Perez can wrestle and can stuff Taira’s attempts at grappling. And if this fight stays on its feet, Perez can hurt Taira, as he did with Matheus Nicolau.

We also like Perez’s activity. He just fought less than two months ago while Taira has not fought since December 2023. Perez is in better shape and has shrewd value at underdog odds. Bet him straight and parlay him in the sportsbook.

UFC Pick: Alex Perez (+171)

Stampeders, Lions Light Up Scoreboard in CFL

The BC Lions and Calgary Stampeders own two of the CFL’s prolific offenses. And each time they play in Vancouver, sparks fly. Their last two meetings here have seen totals of 71 and 57 points. At least one team has hit the 30-point mark in six of the last seven matchups at the BC Place. Most of them would have gone over the totals if the other team did not get blown out.

We don’t expect a blowout here. The Lions should be upset after losing to Toronto as a six-point favorite. Meanwhile, Calgary escaped Hamilton with a win despite giving up more yards and plays. BC put up 27.5 points on average last season and went 8-4 in the division. It would be surprising if it scores fewer than 30 points on Saturday.

On the flip side, the Lions also gave up over 24.3 points on average. That’s why the totals went over or pushed in 13 of their 20 games (12-7-1) last season. Don’t overthink this one. Bet online on plenty of scoring and a total over 50½ points.

CFL Pick: Stampeders-Lions Over 50½ (-110)

Davis Finishes Martin Before the Ninth Round

Gervonta “Tank” Davis faces Frank Martin as his toughest opponent, potentially. To be fair, it feels like we’ve said that about every opponent Davis has fought, from Ryan Garcia to Isaac Cruz. But he’s finished everyone outside of Cruz. Davis hits like a heavyweight and that’s what will give Martin a rude awakening.

The unbeaten challenger hits hard himself with 12 knockouts from his 18 wins. However, Davis is a significant step up in competition. And Martin has not fought anyone who hits as hard as the diminutive bruiser. On top of that, Martin is a big lightweight, and the 12-pound rehydration clause from the WBA could cause him further issues.

This may be a similar fight as the one against Garcia from last year, when Davis won in the seventh round. That fight was relatively slow-paced with little to no action.

Martin can act all cocky leading to the fight. But once he gets in the ring with Davis, he’ll be more guarded than usual. And while he has the power to finish fights, he’ll likely catch one from Davis.

Bank on Davis to add to his scalp collection with a mid-round KO. Getting under 9½ rounds at -105 is a bargain.

Boxing Pick: Martin, Davis Under 9½ (-105)

Questions of the Day

Is boxing or UFC better to use for parlays?

It depends on the betting line you can get. Find the lines with the best value and that may sometimes be the underdog.

Which bets can you not use for parlays?

Per the BetUS sportsbook, you cannot add props or Asian totals (from soccer) in parlays. Almost everything else should be good to parlay.
