Must-Bet Cross-Sport Parlay: Best Picks for “the Other” Football Games-pago

It’s football season! No, there are no NFL games yet. But we have the UFL, the CFL, and plenty of soccer (known as football everywhere else). And it just happens we have significant games worth throwing into a cross-sport parlay bet.

It all takes place on a Sunday beginning with an international friendly featuring the world’s best national team: France. They anchor our wager with the best betting line for our three-leg parlay this weekend.

Best Bets to Parlay This Weekend

Bet on France to Light Up Canada!

There is nothing “friendly” to what France will do to Canada in this contest. Even if France only sends out its reserves, the Canadians will be hard-pressed to win. Thus, the soccer odds are laughably lopsided with France favored to win in regulation at -588 and Canada at +1195. There is no value in betting on France to win this exhibition contest. Instead, look at the total.

The total opened at 3, which has shifted to 2-2½ partly due to Canada’s *bleep* showing against the Netherlands. The Dutch blew out Canada 4-0 in front of their new manager’s face. This outfit is transitioning and will not adjust in time to face the world’s best team.

France’s reserves are likely good enough to blow Canada out. We see France scoring at least three goals here. However, Canada can also score.

We’ll estimate they score one goal late in the second when France takes its foot off the gas. Bet online on the total to go over 2-2½ goals.

Brahmas’ Defense vs Battlehawks’ Efficiency – Bet the Under

The San Antonio Brahmas are the UFL’s surprise team this season. They opened with the longest odds to win the UFL title but are now one of the four playoff teams. Wade Phillips has done a masterful job in transforming this also-ran into the league’s top defense.

The Brahmas even hold wins over Birmingham and the St. Louis Battlehawks, the top two teams. That they did this when they had already clinched playoff spots does not make it less impressive. San Antonio has allowed 12 total touchdowns and 4.7 average gain per play against opponents.

On the flipside, the Brahmas’ offense is also turnover-prone. San Antonio is -6 in turnover differential and will play in BattleDome where 65,000 fans will make it deafening. So we can’t fully back this team to pull off the upset.

The best UFL bet here is in the total. The Battlehawks have a solid defense and are efficient offensively. We don’t see scores going over 43 points. Parlay the ‘under.’

No Kelly? No Problem! Argonauts Strong ATS Pick

Catch the Toronto Argonauts’ spread before it continues to tighten. Toronto opened with a six-point betting line and it has been bet down to 5½. The public is in the same mindset as us: the oddsmakers have overadjusted in light of Chad Kelly’s suspension. The reigning Most Outstanding Player makes Toronto much better. But the rest of the team are still as great.

Toronto still has three players ranked in the top 12 on TSN’s Top 50 players list. The Argos have the best offensive line in the CFL and have an exploitative defense. As such, even if Cameron Dukes is a newbie, Toronto should not be this big of an underdog. In fact, I like Toronto to upset BC.

The Argos play at home where they went 9-0 during the regular season. Their only defeat came against the Grey Cup champions, Montreal. BC went 6-3 on the road last season but only went 3-2-1 against the spread (ATS) as a favorite. It failed to cover as a four-point favorite in Toronto early last season. So, for parlay purposes, we’re taking the points on Toronto in the sportsbook.
