Now. with the battle lines drawn so, we take one last look at regular-season play as it is in Week 10, complete with USFL odds and predictions.

Stars vs Generals

Date: Saturday
Time: Noon ET

The New Jersey Generals have won eight straight games since losing to the Birmingham Stallions in Week 1. Most recently, the Generals are coming off a 25-23 win over the Michigan Panthers.

The Philadelphia Stars are riding a four-game winning streak into the final week of USFL action. The Stars narrowly edged the Pittsburgh Maulers 17-16 last weekend.

Both these teams are in fine form as they put their winning streaks on the line in a matchup that will serve as a handy preview to their North Division playoff showdown the following week.

With no incentive to win this game, though, it might be a tight affair all around. One can’t ignore the possibility of star players being rested too. The last time these sides met, the Generals won by an eight-point margin. As per the betting online markets, the outcome is expected to be closer this time.

Pick: Stars +2 ½ (-110)

Stallions vs Bandits

Date: Saturday,
Time: 4 p.m. ET

The Birmingham Stallions suffered their first defeat of the season, losing to the Houston Gamblers 17-15. The outcome was unexpected, sending seismic shockwaves through football betting markets because it was a mismatch on paper. The Gamblers had lost seven in a row and looked to be down and out.

Disappointing though the loss was, it didn’t impact the Stallions as far as the big picture is concerned. Bookmakers still tip the Stallions as the team to beat in the USFL Championships.

The Tampa Bay Bandits were eliminated from the playoffs following a 17-6 loss to the New Orleans Breakers. The Bandits had started the season strong, but lost steam down the stretch. In the last three weeks, they haven’t scored more than 13 points.

The diisappointment of that loss is likely to linger as they go into the final week. The Stallions might not be as dominant as they were in the first half of the season, but they’re still the better team.

Pick: Stallions – 3½ (-110)

Panthers vs Maulers

Date: Sunday
Time: Noon ET

The Michigan Panthers and the Pittsburgh Maulers prop up the North Division standings. The Panthers are riding a six-game losing streak while the Maulers have dropped four on the trot.

One of the main issues that these sides have had to contend with is unpredictable quarterbacking. It’s why they lead the quarterback carousel this season. On the flip side, the defenses of both teams have also suffered in the long run.

There’s very little to redeem either side ahead of their final showdown on Sunday. That makes this a toss-up for football picks. The last meeting saw the Panthers shut out the Maulers 24-0. That might be something to hang one’s hat on here.

Pick: Panthers (-3)

Breakers vs Gamblers

Date: Sunday
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET

The New Orleans Breakers are through to the playoffs where they’ll face the impressive Birmingham Stallions. The Breakers lost both regular-season meetings with the Stallions, including a Week 8 encounter.

New Orleans bounced back with a 17-6 win over the Bandits in Week 9 to cement their place in the playoffs. Knowing the magnitude of the task before them, one wonders how invested they will be in their final game of the season.

The Houston Gamblers delivered one of the biggest upsets of the USFL by handing the Birmingham Stallions their first loss. They might be in a position to deliver another upset, especially if the Breakers choose to rest starters for the playoffs.

Pick: Gamblers +3½ (-110)
