The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has become F1’s iconic race thanks to being the final one on the calendar. Just like in 2021 when the driver’s title was decided, we will see the constructors’ championship come down to this. It’s between classic rivals Ferrari and McLaren. While the F1 odds are squarely on the latter’s side, we are picking one of Ferrari’s drivers to score a big win for his team.

2 Abu Dhabi GP F1 Predictions: Bet on Ferrari to Come Up Big

1. To Win Outright: Charles Leclerc (+485)

We are talking about Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque driver is enjoying his best season and has arguably been the best driver in this second half of the year. Leclerc has three wins and we’re betting online on him to make it four at these odds. He has been more consistent than McLaren’s Lando Norris, who seems to find ways to lose points.

Thanks to a stop/go penalty in Qatar, Norris fell to 10th place and cost his team and himself. McLaren is now only 21 points ahead of Ferrari and Norris is just eight ahead of Leclerc. That means even more pressure on the Briton. And as we predicted last week, Norris tends to wilt under pressure.

The team gave me a great car today, so I’m thankful for the team,” Norris told F1 news outlets. “Disappointed that I couldn’t have done a worse job than I did today and not give them the points they deserve, so I’ve made the job of the team much harder than it needs to be.”

That’s a shame for the 25-year-old. But his loss is Leclerc’s gain as he has nothing to lose but everything to gain here. Leclerc has outpaced Norris in six of the last eight races. He’s finished on the podium in five of these while Norris has only done it twice. And yet the F1 lines remain bullish on Norris.

McLaren has the best car on the grid but as Max Verstappen has shown, a great driver can trump a great car. Ferrari also has a car that is suitable for the Yas Marina circuit, at least early in the race. This race will go from dusk to evening and the colder temperatures could give Ferrari some hiccups.

But we expect Leclerc and Ferrari to manage it. Unlike previous seasons, the team stopped fumbling with its strategy. The results have proven Ferrari is worth betting on. Bet Leclerc to punctuate their season.

Bet to win outright – Charles Leclerc (+485)

2. Winning Nationality – British (+110)

We’re not usually big on touting hedge bets. But we like this F1 pick that includes betting on Norris or the Mercedes drivers to win the race at +110. The circuit benefits three cars mainly: Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes. We’re picking Leclerc to win while the odds like Norris. But Mercedes has been spoiling lately.

The German constructor rallied in Las Vegas just when everyone (including us) counted them out. Mercedes proved it is still a threat, especially in cooler temperatures. The track may cool down later in the race during nightfall. That could give Mercedes a bit of a boost.

George Russell has been a man possessed lately. He’s consistently finished in the top six and has a win in Las Vegas. We can count on him to be in the running alongside Lewis Hamilton, who may look to better his record after a disastrous race in Qatar.

As a hedge to Leclerc, this one is worth taking.

The Best Formula 1 Bet This Weekend? Leclerc to “Win” (+350)

Not only is Leclerc our F1 prediction to win this race but we’re also taking him to overtake Norris and to “win” the driver’s title – when we exclude Verstappen. This means Leclerc finishes second. He’ll need to outscore Norris by nine points (as Norris has the tiebreaker).

The best case is for Leclerc to win the race (25 points) while Norris finishes third or worse. Should this happen, we’ll finish this season with a bang.

Bet on Charles Leclerc to win Drivers Championship Without Max Verstappen (+350)
