Betting on F1: Verstappen in Drivers’ Seat for Championship

Max Verstappen is the firm favorite to win the Championship in our Formula 1 betting odds.

He’s trading at -700, and he’s the only driver paying short odds to win the prestigious title.

The next best hope is Lando Norris or Charles Leclerc, both listed at +1200 odds.

Can They Catch Verstappen?

Driving the fastest car is a massive bonus in Formula 1 racing, and Verstappen happens to be in it.

His car is slick, but he’s clearly the best driver in the world to get the gig. His F1 odds of -700 are on the short side, but after dominating the industry for the last few years, his odds could have been shorter.

He has expressed interest in getting out of the game, which would be a shock. However, he’s only 26 years old, and he could rack up many more F1 titles.

Red Bull team advisor Helmut Marko –great name for a racing boss– said Verstappen has an exit clause but believes only the car slowing down would see him leave.

“I don’t think an incomprehensible amount of money is an issue for Max,” Marko said. “If we are not in a position to provide him with a car that is capable of winning…of course he’s interested in success as a racing driver.

“You don’t get any younger.”

The sportsbook is right to have Verstappen at such short odds, and it’s difficult to bet against the sensation.

From YouTube to F1 Champ?

Lando Norris is a YouTube star, from detailing his Formula 1 journey to playing racing games.

The popular 24-year-old has come through the ranks in impressive fashion, and now he could dethrone the king at the top.

He is on the second line of betting at +1200 with sports betting odds, and there is some value in that option.

Despite last year’s sixth being his best overall finishing position, Norris is expected to improve significantly in his current car.

As the odds suggest, he is the biggest danger to Verstappen, and the start of the season will be crucial for the young driver.

What’s Happened to Hamilton?

Lewis Hamilton is a classic case of not driving the fastest car.

A driver can go from dominating, like Lewis used to, to struggling, and it all depends on your car.

It puts a lot of drivers’ success into question: driver or car? However, Hamilton could bounce back and start amassing some wins.

He finished third last year, but he didn’t score a race win. That pales in comparison to the 11 wins he recorded in 2020.

His move to Ferrari could spark him back into action. However, Ferrari hasn’t had much success in Formula 1 since the glory days of Michael Schumacher, and 39-year-old Hamilton might not get the best out of the car.

Getting +1600 with betting online markets is a good price, which is enough to include him in our selections.

Much like countryman Norris, getting off to a fast start is key for Hamilton. Confidence levels need to return to Hamilton to succeed.

Don’t Forget About Leclerc

It was only in 2022 when Charles Leclerc finished second in the overall rankings, so he has every chance of winning in 2024.

He didn’t race as well last year, finishing fifth with Scuderia Ferrari, but his odds have shortened to +1200, so there is good betting support for the 26-year-old.

On natural talent alone, he can’t be ruled out, and if Verstappen slips up, it could be Leclerc pouncing on the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship.
