Welcome to the 2025 F1 season. Unlike the previous ones, this one should be more unpredictable. Max Verstappen and Red Bull are no longer favorites to win. That is now on Lando Norris and McLaren. And yet, they have not proven to be as dominant so the F1 odds for the Australian Grand Prix leaves room for open competition. Who are the best bets to start the year?

Top 3 Picks for the F1 Australian GP
1. Fernando Alonso Finishes in the Top 10 (+135)
We can’t count anyone out this early. Aston Martin may be due for a resurgence not just because Adrian Newey, formerly Red Bull’s lead engineer, has already started to put on “championship-level” designs. The way we see it, they have just as much chance to finish with points as Alpine or Williams. And we can bet Fernando Alonso will do it.
The grid’s oldest and most experienced driver had a tough 2024. But he’s consistently finished within the top 10 at Albert Park – three of his last four entries including both with Aston Martin. The wily former two-time world champion can be had at underdog Australian Grand Prix odds. So count us in.
Bet on Points Finish – Fernando Alonso (+135)
2. Charles Leclerc Wins Pole Position (+275)
Norris and McLaren are the conventional F1 picks to win. They won the constructor’s title last season and Norris edged everyone for most of the season. But it’s a new season and Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are still a formidable one-two punch, especially at Albert Park. Leclerc won qualifying in 2022 and set the fastest lap last year.
The Monegasque racer has consistently been strong in qualification. Yes, Norris has the faster car but McLaren also tends to start the season slowly. They need to pick up momentum whereas Ferrari has looked strong to start for several seasons now. Leclerc at nearly 3/1 is worth betting in this spot.

3. Leclerc Wins the Australian Grand Prix (+450)
Leclerc will not only win qualifying but finish first outright. He’s a sharp pick to win the F1 title and can cash as a +450 choice here. No team will be perfect entering the season. McLaren has the fastest car, on paper, but Ferrari is not too far behind. Red Bull looked “mid” while Mercedes performed better in cooler climates. Thus, we like the odds on Leclerc to win here.
The Ferrari man will outpace his more renowned teammate. Leclerc has eight career victories and one of them was in Australia. He also finished as a runner-up last season. Hamilton, on the other hand, is crafty in the race but tends to lag in qualifying. Should Leclerc start in front, he’s a good bet to beat everyone.
Keep up to date with the F1 news, as the odds will change depending on developments. But as of this Thursday, Leclerc looks to be in a strong position entering 2025.
