F1 Predictions: Back Four Drivers in Mexico City Grand Prix
How do you bet on F1 online you ask? There are many F1 markets to pick from in this 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix, and there are four drivers worth backing. It starts at the top with you-know-who: Max Verstappen. The Red Bull man is the three-time defending champion and has won all but one race this season. He’s the short favorite to win. But three others are worth backing.
Verstappen to Complete Another Hat Trick
The United States Grand Prix was a tough track. The Mexico City Grand Prix lines slightly favored Verstappen and he got it done, though it did not come as easy. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari got pole position and Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton finished second, not too far behind Verstappen. However, both got disqualified, while Yuki Tsunoda of AlphaTauri scored the fastest lap.
But in Mexico, despite the tough conditions, Verstappen is a good F1 pick to complete the hat trick: win the race, set the fastest lap, and win the pole position. He’s done it five times this season, with the most recent one in Lusail and Suzuka.

When it comes to reliability and performance, Verstappen is tough to beat. Given the course conditions in Mexico City, the other contenders could fall just short. Overtaking is difficult in the Hermanos Rodriguez, so the pole winner could take off and not look back. The Dutchman has won here in four of the last five seasons.
Mercedes vs McLaren: Who Is Closer to Red Bull?
Before being disqualified, Hamilton almost caught Verstappen in the Circuit of the Americas. Mercedes would like to think they didn’t lose. They just ran out of time. And that’s apt until he and Leclerc (who finished P6) got DQ’d for not adhering to the car plank rules.
Still, Mercedes’s upgrades show that the constructor has narrowed the gap with Red Bull. And that should carry over in Mexico City even with the high elevation potentially causing engine issues. Mercedes has had one of the most reliable cars and their retirements tend to be due to collision.
The high downforce on the track could also benefit Lando Norris in his McLaren. He’s finished on the podium for four straight races. At the plus odds on our sportsbook, he might be a savvy bet to do it again, though Hamilton is favored alongside Sergio Perez.
Alonso or Perez: Who Resurfaces in Mexico?
Speaking of “Checo,” the hometown hero must feel pressure to finish on the podium again. He almost did it last week. But with one podium finish in his last six races, taking him as a bet on F1 online may not be the shrewdest move, even if he finished third last year.
Instead, another Spanish-speaking competitor offers more value: Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso. The constructor fell by the wayside, but Alonso made strong gains last week before retiring. A top-six finish to double the winnings of your wager may be a solid play.

Bet on These Four Drivers
There are multiple bets we can pursue for Verstappen, Hamilton, Norris, and Alonso. Verstappen is still the best bet to win, even if it’s at such short odds. Hamilton and Norris could both finish on the podium. And Alonso could finish in the top six as he’s done in 12 of the 18 races this year. Let’s go with a combination bet that plays these best points into one.
