Formula E Debuts in India

Formula E Round Four Brings Top-Tier Motorsports Back to India

Electrifying a Dormant Motorsports Market

Formula E will bring the highest categories of motorsports back to India this weekend with the Hyderabad ePrix.

While MotoGP will make its debut in India later this year at the Buddh International Circuit, which hosted the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix from 2011-2013, Formula E has chosen the streets and lakeside of Hyderabad much further south.

We’ll preview the new circuit and look at who might be the favorites in the Formula E odds for this weekend to prepare you for the Hyderabad ePrix.

Let’s check the latest Motorsports news, stats, injury reports, and MotorSports lines for Formula E Hyderabad ePrix. We’ve got plenty of Motorsports picks for you to consider.

Will Wehrlein Make it Three in a Row?

Former DTM World Champion Pascal Wehrlein has won the last two ePrix for the TAG Heuer Porsche team, narrowly getting wins over Andretti-Porsche driver Jake Dennis in both races of the 2023 Diriyah ePrix.

Neither Championship leader had great qualifying performances, forcing both drivers to work their way to the front of the grid in both races. Wehrlein and Dennis have occupied the top two steps on the podium in each race this season, with Dennis cruising to the Mexico City ePrix win, with Wehrlein in second.

With such strong starts to the season, Wehrlein and Dennis should be among the favorites when doing Formula E betting online for this weekend.

Reigning Champ’s Slow Start

Defending champion Stoffel Vandoorne has had a poor start to the 2022-23 Formula E season. However, Vandoorne isn’t competing at the same level or with the same team as last season. After two consecutive Championships, Vandoorne left Merecedes-EQ for a seat with the newly founded DS Penske team alongside Jean-Éric Vergne.

The best result for either driver this season was P7 during the first Diriyah ePrix, with both having one top-ten finish in their record so far this season. Although Vandoorne is the defending World Champion, and it’s still early in the season, it might be time to fade him from any picks that are greater than a top-ten, as he doesn’t appear to have the machinery to compete this season.

Formula E Hyderabad ePrix Circuit Info

The Hyderabad ePrix will be the fourth race of the season. It features a long lakeside run from turn 18, past the fishing line, through turns one and two, culminating in the first major overtaking spot. A giant Buddha monolith oversees the hairpin at turn three from the water.

One lap of the Hyderabad Circuit is 18 total turns over 2.835 km (1.76 mi). With this being the first running on the Hyderabad street circuit, there is no track data to consult or past driver experience to review. However, this makes Saturday’s two free practice sessions and qualifiers important for the teams, drivers, and people doing sports betting online.
