Indianapolis 500 Best Bets

The 2020 IndyCar Series will move to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend for the Indianapolis 500. This is the 104th running of the historic event. Originally scheduled for May 24, the race was postponed to August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Below, we will discuss the Indy 500 best bets to win.

A few other facts first: the 2020 running will be the first time the race is not held in the month of May, and the first time not held on or around Memorial Day. There will be no spectators for this event. Even though many races will be held without spectators, if the race is happening, you will find motorsports odds for practically every race in our sportsbook.

Marco Andretti will start in the pole position, but he is not the favorite as far as Indy 500 odds  for this event.

Let’s take a look at our 2020 Indianapolis 500 best bets:

Scott Dixon +400

The 40-year-old from New Zealand is no stranger to this race or running at the top. He won it back in 2008. Dixon has 49 wins in his career, which is the third most successful driver in American Championship Cars history.

He is a three-time overall winner. At one point, he won a race in 16 straight seasons. He will start second in this race and certainly looks to improve upon his 17th-place finish a season ago.

Alexander Rossi +650

Driving the Andretti AutoSport No. 27 Honda car, Rossi will certainly be one to watch. He is listed second in betting odds and will start from the ninth position.

Rossi won this event back in 2016, which was his first of four straight seasons with a top-seven finish. Rossi has raced six times this season and been on the podium once.

Marco Andretti +750

Many are looking forward to seeing the No. 98 car make its way around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With the name Andretti, he has to have a shot at winning, right? Andretti is just 33 years old, but he has been competing in this race since 2006.

He has yet to win the event and has actually struggled the last two seasons. Andretti has two career wins, 20 podiums and six poles in his career.

Will Power +1100

Driving the Team Penske Chevrolet car, Power will come in looking for a repeat of 2018. Power won this event that year after starting the race third. In fact, every season that Power has been in this race since 2009, he has started in the Top 10.

Power is from Australia and will turn 40 years old in March. We look forward to seeing what he can do on the track, and if he stands a chance to pay someone $1100 on a $100 bet.

Others in Consideration

Takuma Sato +1300

Sato is the lone Japanese driver in the field. He is 43 years old and seeking the sixth win of his career.

Sato has the 2017 title under his belt here in Indianapolis. Last season, he finished third. This is a guy that is worth checking out before finalizing your bets.

Conor Daly +2400

Part of the Ed Carpenter team, Daly is the final guy we will recommend. He is also the lowest in the odds that we would put our money on to win this event.

Daly is just 28 years old and an Indiana native. It will be fun for him to get back on the track, this time with no fans cheering him on.

Daly has raced here six times, with just one Top 10 finish, and that was a season ago. Whether or not Daly is ready for the big show, it’s hard to ignore his narrative and his betting odds.

What a race we expect this to be! We have given you a few of the Indianapolis 500 best bets. You make your pick based on the information and then enjoy the race. Best of luck and have a great weekend full of racing!
