Indianapolis 500 Props/Live Betting Tips
Podium for Palou
Indianapolis 500 odds are available for a host of prop bets, including podium finish, and that’s where the best value resides.
Alex Palou is the current favorite to win the Indy 500, so he’s naturally at the top of Indianapolis 500 betting lines.
The sportsbook also offers lines for top manufacturer and live betting markets throughout the 500-mile race on Sunday.
Spanish Star Eyes Top-3 Finish
Palou is the form driver of the current IndyCar season, and he’s the favorite to finish in the first three with sport betting markets.
He has been one of the more consistent drivers in 2023. That includes securing the pole position for the Indy 500, and that often results in a top finish.
“It means the world to me now, to the boys, to everybody,” said Palou, who is likely moving to Arrow McLaren next year. “I’m just super happy.”
The 26-year-old has one podium finish this year, which came at Texas, but he finished fifth at Long Beach and Alabama, so he’s knocking on the door of a great result.
Palou finished second in the 2021 Indy 500 and he has one of the fastest cars, so there won’t be any excuses except for bad luck.
Indianapolis 500 lines have Palou at +170 to produce a top three finish, and those odds are too good to pass up.
- Pick: Alex Palou Podium Finish (+170)

Honda to Beat Chevrolet
We are surprised to see Honda not favored to beat Chevrolet with online gambling markets.
Chevrolet has the likes of Will Power, Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin, but we think the power is with Honda.
Leading the Honda charge are the likes of Palou, Scott Dixon and Helio Castroneves, so they have three of the biggest names in the sport.
They also have defending champion Marcus Ericsson, who qualified 10th after a moderate qualifying session.
“All weekend we’ve been struggling to do four laps. It’s been an issue pretty much every day,” Ericsson said. “This morning we did three pretty good laps [in practice] and had a moment. I did stay flat out for four laps, but just had too much sliding.”
Sliding has been a complaint with the Chip Ganassi cars, as Dixon highlighted earlier in the week, but they’re usually ready to fire on race day.
We’re taking -105 for Honda, which is an excellent price.
- Pick: Honda (-105)
Live Bet Dixon
Live betting is available for most of the Indianapolis 500, and no matter where Dixon is in the running order, he’s always a chance to win.
The New Zealander is a former winner of the Indy 500, so he knows what it takes to win the sport’s biggest race.
His form this year has been excellent, and despite his car driving below its best, we expect his Honda to be cherry on race day.
Dixon’s experience and age play a factor. His odds are behind only Palou and Pato O’Ward at +800, which is a fair price. However, if he falls down the pecking order after 100 or so laps, bettors should get around +1200 for the Kiwi.
