Ambetter Health 400 Picks: Bet on Busch at Atlanta Feb 23

Following a thrilling Daytona 500 that saw a last-lap crash open the door for William Byron to win his second straight season opener, the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Ambetter Health 400 on Sunday. Since the track’s reconfiguration, Atlanta’s “superspeedway-lite” style of racing has gelled well with the Gen7 car, making for great racing.

Ryan Blaney is the favorite to win at +775. Let’s break down our NASCAR best bets for what has the makings of a great race.

3 Picks for the Ambetter Health 400

1. Bet Busch to Win

Last year’s finish was one of the best in the series’ history, with Daniel Suarez narrowly bested Blaney and Kyle Busch in a three-wide finish that saw a mere .003-second margin of victory. While Suarez is certainly no slouch, this shows that drivers not necessarily at the top of the field can win this race.

Suarez’s NASCAR odds are a little surprising considering his stellar results at new Atlanta, finishing no worse than second in the last three races. His +1900 odds could provide the best longshot value in the field.

Favorite Blaney has also been fantastic at Atlanta. While yet to secure a win, he has five-straight top-10s and a sterling superspeedway reputation to his name. While we downplayed Busch’s winning chances last week at Daytona, his Atlanta outlook is much better.

In addition to nearly winning this race last year, he has four-straight top-10s here, per NASCAR betting trends. His winning odds sit at +1200. Byron has those same odds, having won twice at the new configuration.

While we were not on the Busch bandwagon last week, we will jump on board this week. Our NASCAR prediction is for the two-time series champion to snap his 57-race winless streak and be the first to take the checkered flag, providing strong value in the process.

2. Top Value Bets for Contenders

While not quite as unpredictable as Daytona and Talladega, new Atlanta poses a great opportunity for value picks. Who else might take advantage and run up front? Blaney’s Team Penske teammate, Austin Cindric, was having a strong run last week and has three top-10s in his last five Atlanta starts, with the others being an 11th and 12th.

While his top-10 odds are not particularly appealing, if you wanted to go to the next level, his top-five odds pose a far more appetizing +220. Ross Chastain was the runner-up of the first two races on the new configuration. While his numbers haven’t been nearly as strong since, he still has appealing NASCAR betting lines of +120 merely for a top-10.

Michael McDowell also has a strong record on superspeedways and had finished in the top-10 back-to-back Atlanta races before last summer’s playoff race. Even though he is now with Spire Motorsports, they will certainly have the speed to run up front. His value is even stronger than Chastain’s, with +220 odds for a top-10. We are all-in on McDowell at those numbers for this NASCAR prop pick.

3. Suarez, LaJoie Among Top-10 Prop Picks

We mentioned Suarez in our winner’s section, so the fact that his Ambetter Health 400 odds for a top-10 are even-money is too good a value to pass up. While not our pick to win, you should follow the trends and take Suarez.

Another driver with some Atlanta success is Corey LaJoie. Running part-time this year for Rick Ware Racing, LaJoie has two top-fives at the new configuration and nearly won in 2021 before Chase Elliott threw an errant block.

The second-generation driver was running up front at Daytona before getting caught up in a late wreck and has a lot to prove this year in only a handful of opportunities. We’ll take our chances at +260 for a top-10.

At the forefront of one of the big Daytona wrecks was (unsurprisingly) Ricky Stenhouse Jr. With three superspeedway wins under his belt, Stenhouse has been nearly as good at Atlanta, with two top-10s in the last three races. We will take a shot on him with an online bet at +220.

Bet these top-10 picks: Daniel Suarez (E; Corey LaJoie +260; Ricky Stenhouse Jr. +220
