Food City 500 Prediction, Picks and NASCAR Prop Bets for April 13: Bet Larson (+425)

The NASCAR Cup Series returns to the short tracks for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday. Kyle Larson is the favorite with +375 NASCAR odds. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin is looking to be the second driver this year to win three straight. Read on to see if either of these two headline my picks for when I bet on NASCAR this week.

3 Best Bets for the Food City 500

1. Larson (+425) the Winning Pick

It’s no surprise that Larson is the NASCAR betting picks favorite, as he has dominated the last Great Colosseum of late, winning in the fall last year and finishing inside the top-five in each of the last five races. Hamlin has been just as good, winning two of the last three.

Who might challenge these two? Larson is now the NASCAR championship odds favorite to win his second title, surpassing Christopher Bell, who leads the series with three wins. While he has never won at Bristol, he’s been in the top-five three times in four races.

But I will go with Larson, who needs to bounce back after an embarrassing showing in Darlington. Bristol is the perfect track for him to do that. I expect to see him in victory lane at +425 NASCAR odds.

Bet this pick: Kyle Larson +425 to win the Food City 500.

2. Bet Buescher (+500) to Lead Blue Ovals

In typical Chris Buescher fashion, he has been outstanding through eight races. While yet to win a race, he has five top-10s in that span, per NASCAR betting trends. He has been strong at Bristol the last two years, winning this race in 2023 and boasting two other top-10s. It has been a struggle for Ford, which has yet to win a race this season.

Ryan Blaney tends to be the favorite, but I will take Buescher to be the first Ford to cross the start/finish line first at appealing +500 NASCAR odds.

Bet this pick: Chris Buescher +500 to be Top Ford Driver

3. Bowman, McDowell Top 10 Value Picks

It seems one NASCAR prediction I make weekly is Alex Bowman to finish in the top-10. Will I take the easy way out? Yes, I am in on Bowman at +110 for NASCAR prop bets. While he’s failed to crack the top-10 the last two weeks, he is strong at Bristol like his Hendrick Motorsports teammates Larson and Chase Elliott. A bounce back is in order.

One driver who has yet to crack the top-10 on the year is Michael McDowell in his first year at Spire Motorsports. But he has been very consistent, with six top-20s in eight races. Bristol has quietly been one of his strong oval tracks.

In his last four starts, he has one top-10 and three 11th-place finishes. With a strong value of +375, a low-stakes bet is worth being part of your NASCAR picks this week.

Bet these NASCAR Top-10 Picks: Alex Bowman +120; Michael McDowell +375
