The final race weekend of the 2024 NASCAR season is upon us, with festivities beginning Friday night with the Craftsman Truck Series Championship Race. Christian Eckes, Grant Enfinger, Corey Heim and Ty Majeski are the four drivers all vying for their first championship. With 14 combined wins, this might be the most stacked championship four the series has seen. Stage points do not matter this week. Whichever of the four finishes the highest will take the championship.

Heim is the favorite to win at +140 NASCAR betting odds. Last year, we sifted through the chaos and correctly predicted longshot Ben Rhodes to win the title. Can we do it again? Let’s take a look at all four contenders and determine who is the best bet to win the Craftsman Truck Series championship.

Analyzing All 4 Betting Picks

1. Christian Eckes (+140)

One of the four that is rising through the ranks is Christian Eckes, who is set to move to the Xfinity Series next year for Kaulig Racing. A Cup ride certainly seems to be in his future. Eckes has been excellent in his fourth full-time season, winning four races while notching 14 top-fives. But even more impressive is that he has only finished outside the top-10 once in 23 races.

Amidst the chaos of last year’s championship race, it was actually Eckes who spoiled the playoff party by taking the checkered flag first. Altogether, he has five top-10s in six Phoenix starts. His NASCAR Trucks Series odds to take the championship sit at +240.

2. Grant Enfinger

The best story of the season has been Grant Enfinger. After GMS Racing shut down, the veteran joined CR7 Motorsports, which had never won a Truck race. But the “little team that could” ran consistently all season and won back to back playoff races at Talladega and Martinsville, clinching their spot in the final four.

Enfinger is by far the most experienced of the four, having been a series regular for eight seasons, though this will only be his third championship four appearance. In six Phoenix starts, Enfinger has finished better than sixth four times, but has failed to score a top-three. His late-race charge to the championship last season fell just short.

Will he get it done this year? He is believed to be the longshot in the field, with odds to take the championship at +640 in online betting.

3. Corey Heim

The championship race is familiar territory for Corey Heim, as he was the NASCAR betting pick to win last season’s championship as the odds-on favorite, though his hopes were thwarted by what appeared to be Carson Hocevar intentionally wrecking him. He followed up that disappointing result by winning a series-best six races this season.

Heim and the TRICON Garage team have been remarkably consistent in the playoffs, with five top-10s in six races, with the only exception being an 11th at Talladega. It is no surprise he is again the favorite to win at +140 in online betting. Heim’s 2025 plans have yet to be announced, so winning the championship would be a huge boost to his already impressive resume.

4. Ty Majeski

While not the betting longshot, you could consider Ty Majeski as the dark-horse for the championship. The 30-year-old is making his second championship four appearance as a bright light in a dark year for Thorsport Racing, former juggernauts of the series.

According to NASCAR betting trends, Majeski has been solid all season, scoring nine top-fives, highlighted by back-to-back wins at IRP and Richmond over the summer. In six playoff races, Majeski has either been on or off, with two runner-up finishes, though only one other top-10 in six races.

He only has two-career starts in the desert and has failed to finish in the top-10 both times. The 98 team will need to find something if they want to hoist the championship trophy. We are out on Majeski in our NASCAR predictions and do not believe he warrants the +260 odds so close to Heim and Eckes.

So, Who Wins? The Betting Pick is …

While on the surface, Eckes or Heim should be the choice here. It would be a shock to see them falter at the end of remarkably strong and consistent seasons. But as we saw in last year’s race that had an embarrassing 12 cautions, anything can happen, especially in a field filled with young, inexperienced drivers that do not race with the same respect as veterans.

Heim was the favorite to win last year before being taken out by Hocevar, and the same thing could happen to him or Eckes. But fortunately, this final four has lots of experience and will hopefully race each other cleanly. Due to the unpredictability, though, there is no harm in throwing a low-stakes wager on any of the four drivers.

With that said, we will go with the Cinderella story of Enfinger and CR7 Motorsports, who got hot at the right time, winning two of the last three races. Should he make good on that, his +650 odds are a great value in our NASCAR Trucks best bets.
