Two of Four Playoff Spots Still Open
Gragson’s Roll Continues
He’s already become the second Xfinity driver to win four straight races, and now Noah Gragson will get an opportunity to drive for the championship after punching his ticket to Phoenix with a win last weekend at Homestead-Miami.
Gragson couldn’t pick up the checkered flag at his home track in Las Vegas two weeks ago, but he made up for it with the win in Homestead, which was his series-leading eighth victory of the season.
Even though he’s already in the Championship Race, Gragson is still the +250 favorite for NASCAR odds this week.
Let’s check the latest NASCAR odds, stats, injury reports, and NASCAR lines for Xfinity Dead On Tools 250. We’ve plenty of NASCAR betting odds for you to consider.
Just One Spot Open … ?
Gragson joins his JR Motorsports teammate Josh Berry, who won at Las Vegas, in the Championship Race at Phoenix. Barring a catastrophe, Ty Gibbs looks like he’ll be alive for the final four as well as he has a +30 point advantage on the cut line.
Gibbs is +300 for Saturday’s race, and he led 197 laps in the spring race at Martinsville before falling back to an eighth-place finish. Gragson is the defending 2021 Dead On Tool’s champion.
With Gibbs likely in on points, that leaves five drivers competing for the final spot in the postseason. A.J. Allmendinger (+1000) is currently the last man in on the cut line, but he’s got a five-point lead over Justin Allgaier (+450).
Most people would like to see Allmendinger get to the Championship Race at Phoenix, considering he has five victories this season (including in two of the last four events) and is headed back to the Cup Series full-time next season.
Allmendinger finished third at the Spring race in Martinsville and seventh at the Dead On Tools 250 last year.
Allgaier has higher odds than Allmendinger for betting online, but he was 29th in the spring race, although he did finish fifth at this event last season. That’s still an interesting race-within-the-race to see who claims the final spot in the Championship Race.
Three Can Play Spoiler
While everybody will be watching Allmendinger vs.Brandon Jones for the final playoff spot, three other drivers can still play spoiler with an outright win. Austin Hill (+1600) could actually still get in on points considering he’s just seven points off the pace of Allmendinger.
Two drivers who need a win this weekend in Martinsville are Sam Mayer (+1200), who is -28 points off the pace, and Jones (+1000), who sits in eighth at -38 points back.
Either winning isn’t out of the realm of possibility, as Mayer finished fifth at Martinsville in the spring and fourth in the 2021 Dead On Tools 250. Jones won here in the Spring and was sixth at this event last season.

NASCAR Xfinity Dead On Tools 250 Prediction
Even though he’s been dominant this season, Gragson is kind of an afterthought at the sportsbook after he clinched his berth in the Championship Race. Gragson doesn’t have a lot to prove except grabbing his ninth win of the year.
There are some hungry sharks circling the track, with the likes of Allmendinger, Allgaier, Hill, Mayer, and Jones all fighting for their shot at the Championship.
We go with the shocker here and take Mayer, who has been racing well at Martinsville but may also get the boost from his JR Motorsports teammate Gragson and/or Berry as they try to get a third driver into the Championship.
It’s sure to be a great final weekend of racing for this regular-season finale.
