Speeding in Sin City on a Saturday
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway gets its first taste of the 2023 NASCAR season and a chance to do some sports betting in the long-time home of the industry in America.
Cup Series regular Kyle Busch is among the favorites across NASCAR odds for this on Saturday but will face fierce competition from the cast of Xfinity Series regulars challenging for points and the Xfinity Series Championship.
We will preview the Xfinity Series Alsco 300 and predict who we think should be included in your online sports betting this weekend.
Recent Winners at the Top of the Odds
NASCAR odds for the Alsco Uniforms 300 have a few familiar names listed as the favorites: three of the top four favorites are either Cup Series regulars or landed in Victory Lane in Fontana.
Busch will be making his 2023 Xfinity Series debut in the number 10 ride for Kaulig Racing-Chevrolet fresh from his win at the Pala Casino 400. Oddsmakers and the betting public favor Busch regardless of the Series, as he enters this weekend at +175.
Joe Gibbs Racing-Toyota’s John H. Nemechek followed up a second place at the Daytona 500 by winning the Production Alliance Group 300 last week in Fontana, leading the most laps in the process. Nemechek is the Xfinity Series points leader, is listed at +550, and is the favorite of all the Xfinity Series regular drivers.
Nemechek is the only Toyota driver we see having a shot at winning and could continue his hot start to the season in the desert.
Former winner at Las Vegas and Cup Series regular Tyler Reddick will be driving for Sam Hunt Racing-Toyota and is listed at +800. However, Reddick finished 36th last weekend and has a bigger game to hunt on Sunday, so we’re fading Reddick from contention.
Competition from Xfinity Series Regulars
There are a few Xfinity Series regulars who are having great starts to the season and will challenge at the front of the pack for the win. JR Motorsports-Chevrolet has three Xfinity Series regular drivers that can challenge for the win in Vegas.
Sam Mayer (+1400) had a disappointing finish at Daytona but finished second last weekend in Fontana. Mayer’s teammate Josh Berry has past success in Las Vegas and finished fifth last weekend in the Production Alliance Group 300.
However, the primary target from JR Motorsports is Justin Allgaier (+600), who has finished third in both Xfinity Series races this season. Allgaier is poised to have a strong season and will contend for the win most weekends.
Stewart-Haas Ford’s Cole Custer is listed at +500 and should be considered among your picks to get his first win of the season. After finishing ninth at the Daytona 300, Custer won the first two stages in Fontana before dropping back and finishing 27th. Expect Custer to compete at the front of the pack for the win.
Daytona 300 winner, Austin Hill of Richard Childress-Racing, is further down the odds at +2000. Hill historically struggled at Fontana but should bounce back with a stronger performance this weekend. Hill is the only driver at +2000 or higher we would consider picking to win the Alsco Uniforms 300.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 300 Previous Winners
Three drivers confirmed to participate in the Alsco Uniforms 300 are also among the Las Vegas NASCAR odds favorites and have won at Las Vegas in the past.
Kaulig Racing-Chevrolet’s Kyle Busch is coming off a Cup Series win at the Pala Casino 400 last weekend, has won in the Xfinity Series at Las Vegas twice (2016, 2019), and is the only participant who has won the Spring Las Vegas race.
Sam Hunt Racing-Toyota’s Tyler Reddick will be splitting time between a Spura and Camry for the second weekend in a row and won the Fall Las Vegas race in 2019.
JR Motorsports-Chevrolet’s Josh Berry has won consecutive Fall races at Las Vegas, winning in 2021 and 2022. With recent success at Las Vegas and a fifth-place finish last weekend in Fontana, Berry has to be a driver you consider for your NASCAR betting on Saturday.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 300 Picks and Prediction
Cole Custer has been impressive, and looking at the NASCAR lines, he is someone we expect to win races and challenge for the final four in the playoffs this season. However, Custer is our secondary option to win.
We’re taking Allgaier to continue his incredible run of performance so far this season, this time landing his car on Victory Lane.
- Pick: Justin Allgaier to Win (+600)
