Daytona 500 Proposition Bets To Check Out
As with any race, there are many ways to approach betting on Daytona 500. Although picking an outright winner is definitely the easiest and most popular approach, there is no shortage of proposition bets for us to explore.
Here are our betting tips and predictions for a couple of exotic bets you should check out if you’re looking for some more action on the upcoming NASCAR spectacle.
Expect A Strong Finish From Wallace and Chastain
Ross Chastain, who is priced as high to win the 2022 Daytona 500, is one of the best superspeedway drivers in the field, with solid figures to show for at Daytona. He placed seventh in 2021 and was in the mix to win the 400-miles before getting caught up in a crash.
Over seven starts at Daytona, Chastain’s best placement was the last year’s seventh-place finish, which isn’t ideal. Still, he had done well here before, with a 16th-place finish in August 2020 and a strong showing in fall 2021, when he led for 14 laps.
Admittedly, Chastain isn’t working with the best equipment, but his Trackhouse Racing Team got Ganassi’s assets, and we are excited to see how can Chastain make the most of it. He might not win, but a top-10 finish isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.
Like Chastain, Bubba Wallace usually does well on superspeedways, and there is little that would suggest he can’t shine this weekend. Still, you could argue that past results aren’t as important due to the changes to the cars, and Wallace himself has commented that the cars handle differently.
“The aero platform of this new car is a little bit different,“ said Wallace.
“There will be a lot to figure out.”
Nevertheless, we can’s ignore how well Bubba Wallace has done at Daytona in the past. He finished runner-up in his second trip to the Daytona International Speedway (Feb 2018), added a top-5 in August 2020, and has claimed another silver medal in August 2021.
You could easily make a case for Wallace to win the upcoming race, but we’re getting solid odds on a top-5 finish, so we’ll take a safer bet on the 28-year-old.
Toyota Drivers To Shine
In the Manufacturer market, it’s hard to look past Toyota, which the online sports betting sites have priced . The offered figure offers plenty of value, considering it includes a handful of excellent drivers in Denny Hamlin, Bubba Wallace, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, and Martin Truex Jr.
Admittedly, you could look at Ford, since Ford cars won three of the four superspeedways last season. Still, it’s a different car now, and we have to value the individual talent of the drivers over past manufacturer results.
