The magic of NASCAR, where the winner of a 500-mile race is decided by less than seconds, is in Atlanta this weekend and the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 betting is up on BetUS Sportsbook. Last Sunday, the circuit was in Phoenix, where Martin Truex Jr. picked up his first win of 2021.
Truex took the lead on the final restart of the race and held off a furious challenge from Joey Logano to win by 1.698 seconds. This was the fifth race of the NASCAR season, and Truex was the fifth different winner and the first of the preseason Cup Series favorites to take a checkered flag.
The win for Truex has our online sportsbook making him one of the co-favorites in Atlanta on Sunday in our NASCAR odds.

NASCAR is running races right now without any practice or qualifying in an effort to limit the exposure of teams to one another. Instead, the starting positions are decided by a formula of 50% for the previous race’s finishing position, 35% from owners standings, and 15% from the fastest lap in the previous race.
All that has Denny Hamlin running first in Atlanta, followed by Truex, Logano, Brad Keselowski, and Chase Elliott.
Kevin Harvick, who is the co-favorite in the race with Truex, is starting in the seventh position, just behind Kyle Larson.
A couple of interesting notes about the race in Atlanta, and specifically betting on the race. Harvick has yet to win a race in 2021, but he has won two of the last three races that were run at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Since 2006, only drivers in their fourth season or later have taken the checkered flag here. That works against a second-year driver like Christopher Bell, the winner of the Daytona Road Course, but fourth-year driver William Byron, the winner at Homestead, just sneaks in.
Cup Series Favorites
- Kevin Harvick (+600)
- Chase Elliott (+600)
- Denny Hamlin (+600)
- Martin Truex Jr. (+650)
- Joey Logano (+750)
- Kyle Busch (+750)
- Brad Keselowski (+750)
- Kyle Larson (+750)
- Ryan Blaney (+1100)
- William Byron (+1400)
Of the top betting favorites in our odds to win the Cup Series, two of them are currently outside of the top 10 standings – Ryan Blaney, who is 13th in the most recent standings, and Kyle Busch, who ranks 15th.
Harvick, Elliott, and Denny Hamlin were all co-favorites to win the Cup Series before the season began at Daytona, and despite none of them winning yet in 2021, they all remain co-favorites.
The biggest mover on this board is William Byron. At the beginning of February, he was +5000 to win the Cup Championship. But after his win at Homestead and a pair of top 10 finishes in Las Vegas and Phoenix, online bookmakers have lowered his odds of winning to +1400. You can nab him at +435 to be in the top three finishers in the HonorNas this weekend.
