South Point 400 Betting Preview

Vegas Baby, Vegas! That will be the home of the NASCAR race held Sunday. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the fourth race of the Cup Series playoffs and is the first within the Round of 12.  This race moved from New Hampshire to Las Vegas in 2018. The defending champion is Martin Truex Jr, with Brad Keselowski winning the previous year. Let’s take a look at some of the best betting odds for the South Point 400.

Brad Keselowski +500

Keselowski wants to bring the magic he had during 2018. Keselowski is a big fan of the track in Vegas. Now, can the Discount Tire car rebound from its horrific race in Bristol? After starting on the pole, he finished 34th. That came after a win at Richmond the previous week. Keselowski has more than 3,030 points this season, which is third. He has 4 wins and 20 trips inside the Top 20.

Joey Logano +500

Listed as co-favorite according to oddsmakers, the 30-year-old from Connecticut would love to help his chances as we move along in the postseason. Logano is coming off an 11th at Bristol, following back to back third-place finishes at Richmond and Darlington. Logano will be driving the Ford #22 as a member of Team Penske. Crew Chief Todd Gordon feels like Logano is the car to beat, and now he just needs to execute.

Martin Truex Jr +500

A member of the Joe Gibbs Racing team, Truex will be sporting the #19 Bass Pro Shops car. Truex Jr is the winner a season ago. He has just one win on tour this season, and ranks sixth in the standings. Last week, he started third and came away a disappointing 24th. That came after a great race in Richmond, where he finished second. He has finished in the Top 5, 12 times this season in 29 races.

Kevin Harvick +600

Harvick is the top-ranked driver in the standings, with more than 3,060 points. In 29 starts, Harick has 9 wins, 19 finishes in the Top 5, and 24 in the Top 10. He started fourth last week and came away with the win in Bristol. Before that, he finished seventh at Richmond, and won races in Darlington and Dover. It’s a surprise that Harvick is not the betting favorite here, but recent winners are getting the nod over him. It’s never a surprise when he comes away the winner.

Denny Hamlin +800

Hamlin is will be driving the #11 car as part of the Joe Gibbs Racing team. He has struggled of late, but overall has had a nice 2020 season. His six wins are near the top, and 15 Top 5 finishes are impressive. But, his form as of late has been anything less than stellar. Hamlin did finish third at Daytona, but outside of that, the other four events in the last five were no better than 12th. Hamlin’s last win came at Dover back in mid-August.

Start your engines. We are ready to race.. We expect this to be a great race, and will be hot and heavy as it is the first in the next round. Best of luck with your betting on the South Point 400, and enjoy!
