Hendrick Finishes 1-2-3 Despite Missing One Driver
Many NASCAR betting predictions went out the window when perennial betting favorite Chase Elliott had to withdraw from last weekend’s Pennzoil 300 after suffering a leg injury in a snowboarding accident. There is no timeline for his return.
However, Elliott’s absence didn’t matter to the Hendrick Motorsports team, as the other three Cup Series regulars finished 1-2-3 at Las Vegas. Team Hendrick’s William Byron won the first two stages and finished the race leading the most laps to win the Pennzoil 400. Byron was followed closely by Cup Series Championship contender Kyle Larson in second and Alex Bowman in third.
Any of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers have to be among your betting picks every race weekend, as any of the four drivers can take the checkered flag any weekend.
Team Penske-Ford Struggles
After finishing first and third in qualifying, Team Penske-Ford’s race at Las Vegas fell apart, culminating with Joey Logano’s caution flag and subsequent drop to last, only completing 183 laps.
Logano finished first in qualifying while teammate Ryan Blaney finished third. However, Team Penske’s Austin Cindric had the best result of the three drivers, finishing sixth, while Blaney finished 13th.
Logano’s last-place finish dropped him from second in the Cup Series Championship to ninth in the Drivers’ Championship standings, but he should still be among your sport betting picks to make the Cup Series playoffs at the end of the season.
Rest of the Field
Joe Gibbs Racing-Toyota’s Christopher Bell and Martin Truex Jr have both had strong performances this season, with Bell and Truex poised to peak in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2023.
23XI Racing-Toyota’s Bubba Wallace finished fourth in Las Vegas and could continue pushing his performance toward a race win at some point in the future.
Trackhouse Racing-Chevrolet’s Ross Chastain currently leads the NASCAR Cup Series Drivers’ Championship in points. He should be in your picks to finish in the top 10 and take home more top-three finishes, having finished in the top 12 in the first three races.

United Rentals Work United 500 Name Picks and Prediction
Checking NASCAR odds for this weekend before making picks for Sunday at Phoenix Raceway.
First, don’t pick Elliott to win and reconsider any Elliott future bets due to his injury. The longer Elliott is out, the larger the points deficit he will have to overcome to be a Cup Series player in the playoffs.
Second, it’s really hard to pick against a Chevrolet ride. All three Hendrick Drivers (Byron, Larson and Bowman) are excellent choices while Trackhouse Racing’s duo of Daniel Suárez and Cup Series points leader Chastain could pull off the win.
As for the rest of the field: we like 23XI Racing-Toyota’s Bubba Wallace and think you can get great odds on Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota’s Christopher Bell, who has two top-five finishes this season and is set to break through and take the checkered flag.
