Can Team RB Be Stopped?
It’s true that Red Bull gives you wings, especially for the Formula 1 team, which has dominated the opening five races of the 2023 season.
Formula 1 picks have had Team Red Bull at the top for every race to date, which isn’t surprising given the dominant nature of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
It was another one-two finish in Miami on Sunday, as expected with the sportsbook, which had them in the correct order.
Can they be stopped? And will another driver win at least one race in 2023?

Superior Engineering
It’s less about the drivers and more about the car in Formula 1. Lewis Hamilton went from dominating the sport to finishing 51 seconds behind Verstappen in Miami.
There’s no doubt Hamilton is a quality driver, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been driving the fastest car. However, his Mercedes isn’t keeping up with the pace this year and it suddenly makes him look like a moderate F1 driver.
Formula 1 news shows the two Red Bull cars are far superior, especially Verstappen’s. He started Miami from position nine, but he made overtaking every car in front of him seem far too easy.
DRS has been his friend, which has made overtaking much unchallenging. It was needed in a sport where overtaking was rare, but it made life for drivers like Verstappen easy. He’s a world-class driver, but his car has superior engineering, and it’s clear as day to see.
Rival driver Cameron Russell believes they aren’t even showing their top power, in the hopes to avoid FIA sanctions for being too dominant.
“For sure they’re holding back,” Russell said. “I think they are almost embarrassed to show their full potential because the faster they seem, the more that the sport is going to try and hold them back somehow.
”They are so far away from all of us. I always wonder if they drive at full power or have something else up their sleeves? It’s actually a shame for the sport, although, of course, you have to congratulate them on doing such a good job.”
It comes as no surprise to see Red Bull drivers at the top of Formula 1 predictions for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, and rightfully so.
Alonso Best of the Rest
Third might be the best result Fernando Alonso can hope for in 2023.
The former Ferrari driver, who now drives in an Aston Martin, has finished third in four of the five races so far, and he might have to be content.
Sport betting markets have Alonso at value odds to be on the podium each week, mostly because they know the first two spots will be filled by Verstappen and Perez.
He has been driving well, but not enough to bridge the gap on Red Bull, who finished 26 seconds ahead of him in Miami. It was a vital 15 points for the championship, but can he drive well enough to finish any higher?
Alonso is one of the best Formula 1 drivers in the last 20 years, but Aston Martin isn’t fast enough to keep up with Red Bull. They would love to know what Red Bull is doing to make their machines so quick, but in the meantime, they have to pray the race goes their way.
We can see Alonso winning a race, but luck is needed. Dare we say he might need a late crash in front, but we don’t see Verstappen and Perez taking each other out.
